I know for me I never liked Trump but I always thought he was doing what he believed was right for America. After last week, he needs to prove to me he is putting America first. I have lost all faith in that he is actually trying to improve our country. I am worried he is putting us at a disadvantage for many reason's. I believe he is acting solely on what's best for Trumps bankroll. What are your thoughts?

Trump IMO wants to win. He wants to see himself as winning. Same as most folks I suspect. Can't guarantee what he decides on is best for America, he thinks it is IMO.

Trump has already ended his Presidency, and before that, his candidacy, several times over. Any one of his dozens of gaffes, blunders or scandals would have been enough to sink any other politician in democratic history. I remain bemused and horrified as this farce continues. I'm stunned it's been permitted to continue as long as it has, while the trappings and organs of state try to continue on as normal, everything around them is teetering toward the edge of a cliff. I gave up making predictions when Trump got the nomination. You'd think his presidency would be over after this latest failure, but here we are. I can't imagine what will finally do it, although I won't be surprised if the Reichstag, er, I mean Capitol, is burned down by "terrorists" in the near future.

This latest seems different though. It's the first time leaders of the party have spoken against him. The online feel like facebook, twitter and such does not have a major defense. I post on the government web sites on these feeds and the Trump attackers can be vicious. The last 2 days only one person attacked me, some one on the site called him a Russian Troll and that was it. There are comments supporting Trump but they are weak and the Bulk of the comments are against Trump. Also Fox News came out against him and even Today I could find new video and an article lightly condemning Trump on the Fox website.

Hey, maybe this was the straw that broke the camels back. Maybe. I'm just saying that people have been predicting Trump's imminent demise for quite a while, yet he's still there.

If he is, he's doing what any other politician was doing that came before him. Maintaining the status quo and business as usual. That would be incredibly disappointing to see come to pass.

Trump really isn't my first choice either, but I do get a perception that he was sincere in his desire to make "America great again". He was a businessman and not yet another "stinkin" lawyer meddling away in politics keeping everything in a state of stasis that they themselves don't want to see anything changed.

I was born in a time where things were more stable and prosperous. A single person can go out and get a job to support an entire family while the spouse or partner can stay home if they desire personally, or perchance had kids in order to take care of them and guide them properly as a family unit. Basically the nuclear family (which I'm supportive of) enjoying the benefits of a good paying job with a proper means of retirement and pension during the infirmed years. That of course had degraded and fractured considerably since the time I was born. Those kinds of jobs and family cohesion would appear for all practical intents and purposes on the sidelines.

My thoughts of Trump were along the lines where he could help forcibly spearhead a revitalization of industry and production, the lessening of government intrusion into people's private lives, businesses, and activities. In fact a smaller more efficient government could resurface as opposed to our bloated humongous bureaucracy which is more conducive of impediment then real progress. Basically complete turnaround and shake Up of the government structure in order to set it back on track with Americans themselves coming first. It's our collective country after all such as it is at present.

Trump in spite of his personality and controversial demeanor, still seems focused on the task at hand. Not a part of the tabloid circus based on cult personalities and news headers that we get nowadays worthy of the Sun, or the National Enquirer that tries desperately to get passed off as legitimate national concerns and means of progress. It's just b*******.

Anyone who is conservative and Republican like myself can attest that this forum has a notable left-leaning slant making support of Trumps way of doing things, a challenge to say the least. Politics like religion can be and is passionate. But I think we overall want good lives and good support that benefits everyone, not just this group or that group at the expense of this group and that group ad nauseam.

Even I will say that Trump has said and done stupid things, I've scratch my head a few times but he's also a Maverick. A quality I desire when you're faced with status quo and business as usual mentalities.

If Trump's presidency does end perchance under weight of actual true evidence should it ever surface, I'd likely go apathetic for awhile on the political front and consequently seek out any grass root political movements that will focus on bringing the country back to a time where it actually was respected and prosperous, with a goal in mind that it's for everybody who legitimately and sincerely wants and desires to be a part of a great and prosperous well respected nation along with the proper individual freedom to walk in it without impediment or intrusion.

Trump handled Putin summit well, 68% of Republicans say in poll

If Dems continue to be too lazy to vote, he will get reelected.

Also, in my State, all Repubs who are running for election in November are touting Trump's support of them and visa versa.

I thought he did well enough.

As long as Trump keeps his nose to the grindstone and focuses on the task at hand. I'll still be happy to re-elect him as it stands right now. I don't see why it's a bad thing to have a dialogue with Russia anyways . When you think about it we always had a line to the Kremlin for as long as I can remember . Even during the Warsaw Pact years .

I too am old enough for the days of the one earning family. I too am seeking change. I would just like my family income to grow faster then my expenses but I have no faith that Trump is the answer.

68 percent is the lowest number he has had of Republican approval on any of his questionable actions.

I have to agree . I'm not sure myself if Trump is the answer.

In fact it might make people surprised that I really don't think he is the answer, in spite of my support on the forum for Trump, but I still do think he's the perfect answer for breaking up the status quo and business as usual pigeonhole this country has found itself in. So far I have not been disappointed on that front whatsoever. That alone made my vote worth it.

There's no doubt that we still need a better president to accomplish the goal of prosperity that brought America to the forefront on the international and domestic stage.
Whoever that person is and from whatever party he (or she) comes from, seems to be dwelling on a mythological scale that only the future can tell.

I had no doubts however that Trump was and is a "stick of dynamite". He was perfect for riling up everyone on all sides of the aisle in the sincere hope that people would wake up and smell the coffee. Boy did he ever deliver on that front.

In spite of it all I'm not sure if it was effective yet or not. Will find out once the dust settles in the years to come.

Hopefully with fingers crossed, the status quo and business as usual mentality is loose enough by the time all is said and done to dispose of it proper for the cancer that it is.

there's a sucker born every minute!! Trumps biggest accomplishment has been a massive blowout of the deficit to fund major reductions in corporate taxes and piddly little tax cuts going mostly to the wealthy, some man of the people!!

Keep in mind that is 68% of Republicans. That is actually not that good of a number. If you want Trump re-elected you would want an approval number for something like this to be in the high eighties at least.

Btw, this is why I love numbers. You could write the headline the way they did - “Nearly 70% of Republicans approve”. Or you could write “Less than 70% of Republicans approve”.

You would be happy to reelect a person who is:
A liar
An adulterer
Crude
Unprepared
A Braggert

That says a lot about you.
Not really, it's just that I don't care or give a damn about person's personality or demeanor as long as it doesn't interfere or compromise the constitutionality by which this country is based.

It's actually nobody's business in regards to Trumps personal habits and behaviors unless you see that manifesting through policy itself.

I'm not aware of any legal policies that have been passed and or implemented that would suggest a change of course come election time.
