....your wife has no idea what an around-the-horn double play is after having watched you and you children play baseball for the last 40 years
but she can remember the time I forgot to put a Bounce sheet in the drier back in 1997?
That one made me lolFirst, I don’t have a wife or children. Second, I don’t play baseball or any other sport for that matter.
Wait, wait, wait…
My nonexistent wife somehow remembers that you forgot to put a Bounce sheet in the drier that long ago?
That’s it, I’m reporting your post for nonsensical content in the Games/Pics/Jokes/Stories forum!
Philistine! Sports are art. When a poet or a painter creates something, all they are trying to get is an emotional reaction from the viewer. Watch one of the MLB playoff games tonight. Those players are getting an emotional reaction from the viewers. They are a beautiful example of the human form in all it's glory, striving for perfection. It's improvisational, and ephemeral, but it is 100% art, and I've always felt genuine pity for anyone who doesn't see that. I would hate to live in a grey, drab world where all beauty was inert. I prefer the reality where a man or woman pushes themselves to the very limit in a kinetic show of resplendent distinction.Sports are pointless.

Of course, I may be over thinking this.
How can you call a thing pointless if it brings great joy to millions of people?Sports are pointless.
I'd rather watch an Argentinian telenovelaHow can you call a thing pointless if it brings great joy to millions of people?
We need joy in this world
I'm not sure which I'd rather suffer through. Both sound awful.I'd rather watch an Argentinian telenovela
than a soccer game of 90 minutes.
It's called selective memory. Ever wonder why YEC can forget whole lectures on science within two weeks but remember bible passages? It's the same thing.....your wife has no idea what an around-the-horn double play is after having watched you and you children play baseball for the last 40 years, but she can remember the time I forgot to put a Bounce sheet in the drier back in 1997?
I wish I could select what my memory would forget. It's called selective memory. Ever wonder why YEC can forget whole lectures on science within two weeks but remember bible passages? It's the same thing.
Let's say that if I was forced to go to the soccer stadium...the only place I would love to visit is the soccer players' locker room.I'm not sure which I'd rather suffer through. Both sound awful.
I wish I could select what my memory would forget.

I have no idea how baseball works ...in my country there is only the religion called soccer.Around the horn double play isn't a euphemism?
Yes.....your wife has no idea what an around-the-horn double play is after having watched you and you children play baseball for the last 40 years, but she can remember the time I forgot to put a Bounce sheet in the drier back in 1997?
I don't either. But imagine my surprise putting my hoodie on one morning and finding one in the pocket. We don't buy bounce sheets.
Me tooI wish I could select what my memory would forget.
I still prefer an art gallery or a museumPhilistine! Sports are art. When a poet or a painter creates something, all they are trying to get is an emotional reaction from the viewer.
