No, I don't think it matters. I mean I get that the the Reds need to fit us into the new structure, but does anyone really think it'll make a difference day to day?

At the very least visitors to a DIR should announce themselves as such when they join in a conversation. This should be true in any green DIR, IMO.

That was the main reason I voted what I did. Magic is an easily misunderstood topic; keeping it blue is a way of limiting more to those involved in magic (what I prefer to call spellcraft). I recall some of the non-DIR discussions on spellcraft around here, and there's some concern that opening it up might lead to similar tribulations.

Plus, by and large, identifying with this group isn't as strict as some. As mentioned, these crafts are not necessarily tied to any particular religion. Keeping it blue probably will not be that restrictive anyway?

my ownly fear is that we might stop people from finding their path. i joined a pagan/magic forum as an atheist and posted as a pagan/magician. i really came into myself..(story coming soon) @ the same time i practiced what i wrote to make it real..

That's true, but I'm not sure I find it to be a compelling reason. Regardless of the rules that are set, there will be an influence on people finding their paths; for some it will be what they need, for others it will be not.
