is it possible for them to get paid? like bands who play at a church. i notice some very large churches have what looks like concerts with local bands or a house band, but are they paying the musicians?

Christian bands have families, too. They need to feed and clothe them. If they are a house band at a Church, I think it would depend on each Church congregation on how much or even if they get paid. Bigger congregations could probably spend more money while a small congregation wouldn't be able to pay as much as there are less people tithing or giving offerings.

there's other people who volunteer for different type services for churches that also have families to feed and cloth.

Yes, I got the impression the OP was asking about a real band.... So I figure why not?

A national band or touring band sure, but the OP says local/house band. I can see reasons for both getting and not getting paid, but the implications of being paid seem to make it a bad idea. Imagine all the local bands "Christianizing" their music to make a few bucks and get their names out by using a church service.

Well then I guess it goes back to default and it is up too that particular church, on whether or not they want to pay the band. Those bands would be cheap jerks in my opinion, if they tried to Christianize their music to make a few bucks. So I could see the wrong then in being paid to perfom at a church.

could a band really last with completely faking their faith in the christian world?
