Do Jehovah's Witnesses believe Psalms 121:8.Points to an afterlife?I do.Because of how Psalms 121:8 uses the words From this time forth, and even forevermore.

The bible I am quoting is the king james bible.:)

Psalm 121:8
King James Version

8 The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

I got this right here: Bible Gateway passage: Psalm 121:8 - King James Version

I don't normally wade into discussions of how to interpret scripture. There's nothing wrong with interpreting scripture, it seems like a fine bit of historical sleuthing.

But as an anti-theist, I believe ALL scripture is man-made and quite fallible.

Your interpretation contradicts Genesis 3:19 , Ecclesiastes 9:5 , Psalms 146:3-4 , etc.

The correct interpretation of the Bible leads to a beautifully harmonious and satisfying understanding.
Incorrect interpretations, which abound, result only in making the Bible indecipherable & confusing.

Apply all the other Scriptures that relate to death, and come up with a uniform, ie., non-contradicting, explanation.

Consider how Ezekiel 18:4,20 might play into the correct understanding of that verse.

If Psalms 121:8 isn't a good way to talk about the afterlife. What about 2 Timothy 3:16-17?

What is hard to understand? I’ll try to clarify …
When someone dies, they’re dead; they’re “aware of nothing.” Ecclesiastes 9:5.
But their non-existence, is only temporary. I don’t care if they’ve been dead 3,000 years… it’s still temporary!
(In the scale of time (forever), 3,000 years is nothing!)

But when the time for the Resurrection arrives, and the dead are brought back to life, that 3,000 years will have seemed like a second to them!

Like a deep sleep. While you’re sleeping, time flies and you have no idea.

These resurrected ones will then be able to carry on what they were doing, before they died. But from what I understand, and it makes sense, that these dead ones will be resurrected in better health.
Not perfect health, mind you, but better.

Hope that helps.

Frank, can you imagine some one resurrected, waking up from death, someone who’d died centuries ago, and them waking up to find out they’ve got great, great, great, great, great, great grandchildren?

That’s what it’s going to be like for that vast majority of mankind! And Noah, meeting all his progeny! And we’ll be able to meet him!

“Thy Will be done on earth.” Matthew 6:10
