Do Mulims believe in Jesus?

We all are aware Jesus shows up in the Qur'an more than once. Quite a few times actually. Anyway I spoke to a Muslim friend of mine and he denied Jesus' very existence. First off He hasn't read the Qur'an yeah, but it got me thinking. Can a Muslim call himself a true Muslim if he does this?

My understanding is that, by default, Muslims must believe in the existence of Jesus Christ as a prophet, second only to Muhammad. They do not believe in the "son of god" thingy, but they do believe in the Immaculate Conception. Your friend may have been meaning, "I don't believe in Jesus as being god" as many Christians consider him to me.

If I have this wrong, RF Muslims, feel free to correct me.
For your edification, this is an good documentary according to some Muslims on RF.

corythesuit, one of the articles of faith in Islam is believing in all God's prophet. Denying one of His prophets is very problematic that definitely can take the person out of Islam (this is a general statement, I am not judging your friend especially that we don't know what he actually meant by what you conveyed about him).

From Holy Qur'an:
The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and [so have] the believers. All of them have believed in Allāh and His angels and His books and His messengers, [saying], "We make no distinction between any of His messengers."...285-Al-Baqarah

Muslims believe that Jesus is one of God's five most important messengers

Jesus son of Mary was a human being who was born by a miracle from God, from a mother without a father

He received the Gospel (Al-Injeel) from God, a divine revelation to guide believers to God's Path, which confirmed the earlier revelation God sent to Moses (The Torah) ...

Muslims believe that Jesus foretold of a prophet after him, Muhammad peace be upon him

All of God's prophets from Noah to Muhammad preached the same faith, Monotheism, the belief in the One and Only Creator and Sustainer of the universe

As sister Sahar said, Muslims believe in all of God's prophets mentioned in the Qur'an that God sent to guide humanity throughout history, in addition to the other prophets not mentioned in the Qur'an

Jesus is mentioned tens of times in the Qur'an and we don't doubt his existence
