"Every religion" is a whole lotta religions."I'm a guy and I feel bad for women because every religion I've known was sexist in some way. If God was real, he shouldn't condemn someone because of their...gender..."
I'm not sure that the Abrahamic God overtly condemns women, but women are clearly marginalized, discriminated against, and made to feel less important than men."I'm a guy and I feel bad for women because every religion I've known was sexist in some way. If God was real, he shouldn't condemn someone because of their...gender..."
If God was real, he
DISAGREE. Gender positions have varied and still vary and evolve over times and cultures both secularly and religiously."I'm a guy and I feel bad for women because every religion I've known was sexist in some way. If God was real, he shouldn't condemn someone because of their...gender..."
No religions in their true forms condemn someone for their gender."I'm a guy and I feel bad for women because every religion I've known was sexist in some way. If God was real, he shouldn't condemn someone because of their...gender..."
It certainly applies to Abrahamic religions, and I seem to remember that Buddha thought only men could reach enlightenment.
Of pagan religions, Hindus can be pretty sexist but their ancient scriptures aren't.
How do you discern the true form of a religion if not from the writings or books? No religions in their true forms condemn someone for their gender.
The problem of sexism in religion is NOT limited to the Abrahamic faiths.I don't. It irks me when people say 'religion' but really mean Abrahamic faiths.
I think sexism is bad, but I would have no expectation that a god would agree with human ideas of right and wrong."I'm a guy and I feel bad for women because every religion I've known was sexist in some way. If God was real, he shouldn't condemn someone because of their...gender..."
Can you give a few examples? They should probably get to learn more religions, then. And that's coming from an atheist. Sure there are certainly religions that marginalize women, including but not limited to the Abrahamic faiths, but by no means do all religions do this.
