Now I'm aware it takes a certain taste to enjoy classical music, but does anyone else here like it besides me?

Edgar Winter Group - Frankenstein
Frank Mills - Musicbox Dancer
The Allman Brother's Band - Jessica
Mason Williams - Classical Gas

And, of course, all that instrumental holiday music done by the Trans Siberian Orchestra. (The ones where they try to sing aren't so good.)

I am a fan of both classic and contemporary. But I love it most when it is combined with Norwegian black/death metal, or Swedish is good too, or any black or death metal.

I'm fairly fond of symphony's and the occassional sonata, concerto or opera.

Here's (wikianswers) a reasonable number of symphonies I like spread across all 3 answers... I started listening to Piano pieces quite young as my mother has a pretty good collection of concerto's, sonata's and other piano works with the odd symphony.

A follow on question...

How many classical music listeners here have been turned onto varieties of modern metal by the classical styles such as Wagner, Mozart or Tcahikovsky?

Yes Wagner is contemporary to some.

Can people express what they're thinking with words anymore, or are Youtube links all we can expect? Everywhere I go it seems the answer to every question is an embedded youtube video.
