I don't go out of my way to go to a carnival unless the children want to go.

Ferris Wheels. They're pretty safe. I've also been on the spider, the tilt-a-whirl (like a teacups ride), the direct drop machine that drops you about 50 feet & the house of mirrors.

The Tilt-a-Whirl. Most carnivals no longer have them, which is why I no longer like to go. I was the master of getting this things spinning like a top.

My favorite at carnivals is not a ride, it's the French fries and fried bread dough.
When we brought the kids, I would only go on the Ferris wheel with them.
It brings up one of the things my kids never forgave me for. All too often a carnival would set up
during spring vacation, a couple of blocks from the house, and it would often fall during Holy Week, and they were forbidden to go. The other unforgivable was Santa Clause.

By Carnival I assume you mean Funfair (or Fairground), which is probably more normal for the UK. This is one of my favourites, but never seen at any travelling Funfair. The planes can rotate 360 degrees, after some suitable rocking of the wings, and this was experienced whilst on holiday in Barcelona.

I used to but I'm a lot less adventurous now. I just go for the food . Fried dough with sugar is something I only allow myself very exceptionally so carnivals give me the excuse

I don't know if its my favourite or not, but i like the choo choo train ride. Its kinda fun and relaxing at the same time. You get to watch the trees and other things pass by while sitting comfortably in your seat.
I try to avoid the crazy thrill rides because i'm a big chicken.
I once tried the pirate ship ride as a kid and i felt like i was going to have a heart attack. lol

I like fairs but rides make me want to puke.
