Do You Like Your Given Name?

I disliked my given name as a child to the point where I made people call me by my middle name.

In adulthood I love my given name. It's not entirely unique, but rare.

I don't expect any reveals (though many of you know mine), but what are your feelings on your given name?

I added the Amanaki name as my true middle name a few years back and that made my true name sound better then my given name.

I like that my name means Father. But I also think it's plain and boring (Joe). I would go by Joseph, but I think that's too pretentious. And my middle name which I shall not utter, is vile and I hate it more than any other name ever, so I would never use it.

No. I've always disliked it. I use my middle name often which I barely like any better. My name is far too girly and common for me.

What? Me worry?
Hate it. I was named after my grandfathers. My first name was my mother's father's middle name and my middle name is my father's father's first name. However, if it had been the other way around my name would have been Aubrey Roscoe. Now that I see it on paper, my given name doesn't seem so bad.

Assuming I know your given name, you're the first person I've met with that name and I genuinely like it.

I do like my Enoch07 handle on here though. As in Enoch from The Book of Enoch from the Apocrypha, not the Enoch from Kains lineage. As I feel a connection to him that I can't really explain. I also like another social media handle that I use as I completely came up with it on my own and it's unique. I'll not utter it here either as to present my (it's) anonymity. But I'm not @SalixIncendium I promise that!!!1! Or am I?!?

The name Tani, which was given me as a shortening of a name I used on a website when I was 12, is short for Shetani and both are names I preferentially use. For the ignorant, it rhymes with Danny. My birth name is the disgustingly girly and pretentious Émilie Grace. For the ignorant again, that is pronounced the same as Emily. If you call me it I likely won't respond to you.

How did you happen upon the name Shetani?

It was originally Vitani from The Lion King II (the website was for such fans) but this is a name the producers made up. It was initially Shetani, but when the creators learned that this meant devil or satan they changed it. I liked it.

Carlita was my first given name because my father is Carl and I was his litle 'ita. I would have liked to kept that but my mother wanted to name me by the name I have now. If I had the choice, Id pick Carlita since my first name (carlita is my middle) doesnt have a fancy history as Carl and his little 'Ita does.

Yes. I chose it myself so I suppose I'd better like it.

Not that my opinion matters p00p, because it doesn't. But that's a splendid name imo. I always like Emily (or Emilie in your case). I also like the Tani and Shetani names. They sound pleasant to me. Rival projects aggressiveness to me. Which is the antithesis of your other names, thats interesting. Sorry I'm just getting lost in thought now. No real reason I say this, just thinking aloud I guess.
