Do you really LOVE homosexuals?

I love everyone in the sense that I care for their well being and wish them well.

I don't really care about an individual's sexual preference unless I'm going to bed with them.

Or do you have no problem with them? ;)

I have a nephew who came out as gay a couple of years ago. I always liked him a lot and enjoyed being around him. That hasn't changed at all since I found out. But, I believe he's hurting himself with his choices.

My best friend ever was a lesbian, we used to go camping/ go out to the woods and sit by a fire. We'd just look at the stars and not talk for hours. I loved her greatly. (she died from a car accident in 1997). To me you can't choose who you will love, its merely a response to knowing how great someone is. :D

I desire to understand and love everyone - which means, first and foremost, trying to become conscious of the way the arbitrary categories into which we tend to put people and things are illusory. I usually don't get very far, but that desire doesn't stop, and so I don't stop trying.

Social subversive.

Bit off topic, but I have just realised I don't know any homosexuals, my history teacher was a homosexual but that was years ago. He always used to talk about his partner in class.

People, all people, are individuals. That would mean gays are individuals, too. But I guess I can say yes (even for a whole group of people, most of whom I don't even know and never met), for the most part, because I do my best to love all people.

I love quite a few homosexuals. I certainly don't love ALL homosexuals, but I'm supportive of gay rights issues for the sake of the ones I do love (not to mention myself.)

I have a friend that is heterosexual. Do you love her? Or do you just have no problem with her? ;)

A person's sexuality does not define them of course, and has nothing to do with whether I like them or not. My life is so much richer because of the homosexual friends that I have. And I LOVE them. I also know a few who kinda bug me. But I don't know all homosexuals. I'd have to get to know them each individually to whether I loved them or just "had no problem with them".

tomspug,

Whatever the answer to your question, why would it, or should it, be any different than if you had asked about heterosexuals, blonds, Italians, etc.?

I think the question itself is more than a little bit bizarre.

"Do you really LOVE blacks? Or do you have no problem with them?" ;)
"Do you really LOVE Jews? Or do you have no problem with them?" ;)
"Do you really LOVE Republican's? Or do you have no problem with them?" ;)

In all fairness, as long as folks hold to the "us and them" mentality, appeals to gracious ideals will remain fairly shallow pronouncements.
