Do you talk to God?

have a conversation. a way to hear him speak (metaphorically of course) is to keep your eyes wide open, sense clear and notice symbols and signs when they come your way.

Yes, I talk to God pretty much wherever, whenever. Sometimes out loud, but more often silently, in my spirit. And I agree with Gerani that it is actually a two-way conversation. As long as I'm listening! :) The hardest part sometimes is the listening to God part.

I wouldn't call it talking to God cause he ain't answerin..but when I am in my car and I see a bad accident, ambulance or dead animal I will say a silent prayer. And sometimes before I eat..my gf is Jewish and they say a hewbrew prayer in a group holding hands...I don't say a word by am part of the prayer circle by physcial contact.

I would just consider it a prayer which is my spirtual connection to the universe articuated in thought.

No, I wouldn't say I talk or pray to "God". I sometimes meditate, or attempt to anyway, but that's not quite the same as what you're asking, I think.

Actually, it is a fine way to connect to GOD. Some of the best converstaions I have had with GOD were when neither one of us were saying anything.

Scripture teaches that the human bodies are like tabernacles for God, like a temporary moblie dwelling place but this world is not our permanent abode, we're just passing through. In order to communicate with our God we must receive his image which is spirit. Since God is spirit, and in Genesis he gave his spirit to man and then it became possible for God to talk to man and for man to communicate with God, fellowship. So its not in the body or soul parts that we can communicate with God but rather in the spirit part which must be regained through a new birth made available by the belief in the power of the resurrection of Jesus Christ the Lord. Its very difficult to explain via words in the material realm how spirit and spirit communicate, the best example I can give is by God's revelation.

I would talk to God, but I don't have His cell phone number.

Only kidding.:)

Seriously, and respectfully, as an atheist, I do not believe in God, therefore I don't believe in prayer. I have never seen any evidence that prayer has an effect on anything.

I have had people tell me that they are going to pray for me. Then, they say, "But I guess you don't believe in prayer." I respond, "I don't believe in prayer, but I do believe in people who pray for me--and I greatly appreciate their concern."

After reading about Job, I'm finding it very pointless to pray for others due to concern. In fact, it can produce dangerous results.

I do not REMEMBER GOD requiring any prerequisite beliefs before approaching him/her for developing a sincere dialogue or REALationship. Who K(NOW)s, maybe all this time I have been conversing with the wrong entity.

My conversations with GOD were so involving I had to request that GOD call me just after 8:00pm and on the weekends.

In one religious forum I had so many people praying for me that I had to ask them to hold off until I had the chance to empty my “inbox”.

I have met many people who talk (pray) to GOD but I haven’t met many people who talk (pray) with GOD. Either people do not have time to wait and listen for an answer or they K(NOW) everything and do not need any further understanding.

I personally don't talk to God because I don't think anyone is listening. However, I don't see any reason why people should NOT talk to God... it can serve a similar function as writing in a journal or diary does: clarifying thoughts, working out problems, etc. Nobody is reading a journal but you (well, we hope not :p), and yet we do it anyway, and it is good for us...

"I do not REMEMBER GOD "

ive noticed that many people do not live in the present. the present, the NOW. its soo powerful, we do not live in it, we are always thinking about the past, remenicing, or planing or looking forward to the future. but if you have lived in the now, its a different experience. even spiritaully. God is everwhere, i open more than my eyes to see this force. this divine force the premates through the land. altruism, compassion, love. its all God.

Sure it is, I agree. That's just not it's purpose for me.

The three main challenges that I have had to overcome when talking about my REALationship with GOD to other people is to share the belief that;

a) There is a GOD and GOD is available 24/7 if you desire to converse with him/her.(I K(NOW) of no other entity that offers this deal)

b) GOD is ALL(ways) listening

c) If you ask GOD a question and if it is within your understanding, you will receive an answer.

There are many people who do not believe that GOD is available or that GOD stopped talking when the Bible was finished or that GOD isn’t approachable only to a chosen few. This simply is not TRUE. GOD is available to ALL.

During my conversations I did document my findings in a sort of journal and I have to agree it has helped me immensely.

I have a deep passion for understanding in the NOW. One of the reasons that I approached GOD was my desire to K(NOW) GOD in the NOW. There is a great amount of knowledge that our society has accumulated since the days that authors wrote the Bible and I was always curious how GOD felt about these great leaps in our awareness. Though the method of conversing with GOD on such matters may not be practical for some people, I have to agree with Gerani1248 that there is certainly enough TRUTHs "in the NOW" for people to notice (if they desire) around them that they can recognize this understanding not only with their own physical senses but other senses as well.
