Do you think God is still using dreams and visions to talk to people?

idea

Question Everything
No.
Dreams are our subconscious- I left Christian beliefs due to my dreams. Nightmares, my subconscious letting me know what to trust.

I think visions and dreams can be a part of a person's journey to faith in Jesus.

I'm not opposed to the idea of God speaking through dreams but I would caution on putting too much weight or importance on dreams .

Sometimes I wonder if having dreams is just your mind shifting some ideas around, working them out, and is similar to the process of defragmenting a hard drive.

Probably the case oftentimes. I've had emotions like fear or anger pop up in dreams before.

It's possible to change your dreams - for those who have experienced trauma etc. There are meditation techniques etc. I use nature sounds, and now go through a visualization exercises.

I believe it possible gods or other entities can infiltrate our dreams. For the most part our dreams are our brains just staying active while we sleep. Your dreams are how you actually view the world around you and cope with all that data.

I'm not sure what God is trying to tell me with that dream of Margot Robbie in a hot tub full of chocolate syrup... but if He keeps sending it to me, I promise I'll pay close attention until I get the message...

I was going to post something a little similar to this.
I've had dreams of hot women which I'm assuming everyone is fine for me to write off as my brain exploring the space over night.
But if I dream about Jesus I should see it as literal?

What if it's Jesus reclining in a hot tub...less literal then?

Would explain why I struggle to remember my dreams. I'm the human equivalent of Win3.1.

Anything can trigger a revelation, or not trigger it. The world is full of such triggers if we are open to them. Or it is barren of them if we are not. Revelation happens inside us, and if God has anything to do with it, it's from within, not from without.

I don't know whether this is true, but it might be the case, just as we tend to have less sleep as we age - in that dreams are more related to the content of one's day and if not much changes then there is not much for dreams to have something to work with. This is my experience at least, and as per others, I see dreams being more about mind processes doing that which is necessary to keep all in order. Such that very rarely do the dreams have that much relevance (or having portent), and all coming from within rather than from without - that is, God or elsewhere.

I do not believe God would be giving visions to people to denounce Muhammad mainly because i believe it was God Who sent Him to the world and in the Quran belief in Jesus is mandatory. The belief that only Jesus is the saviour comes from misinterpretation of the Bible not from God. The Bible I believe in symbolic language prophecies Muhammad and Islam in the Book of Revelation but this is not understood by Christians.

If this is true then by rejecting Muhammad Christians are rejecting the Bible. So these visions if anything I believe do not originate from God if they are telling Muslims to denounce Muhammad and only accept Jesus.

...

I think it is possible. But I also think people should also be careful with what they believe, because:

Beloved, don’t believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit who confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit who doesn’t confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God, and this is the spirit of the antichrist, of whom you have heard that it comes. Now it is in the world already.
1 John. 4:1-3

Test all things, and hold firmly that which is good. Abstain from every form of evil.
1 Thes. 5:21-22

I believe there are three types of dreams. Dreams while semi-awake or awake, dreams while asleep from one's spirit, dreams coming from the Spirit of God.

I believe ones spirit (subconscious) can be just as wrong about things as ones mind.
