Do you think people that belong to jesus can be hurt by witchcraft?

Help me to understand from your perspective the difference between spellwork and prayer and the differences in the outcome of each.
The technical distinction between a spell and a prayer is that a spell is a manipulation (do x, get y, automatic) while a prayer is a request (ask, and maybe you'll get it but maybe you wont).

I'm not suggesting that prayer works and spells don't. Indeed, there is a huge scientific study done with heart surgery patients, where it was proven that prayer did not decrease complications from surgery. So the scientific results on the inefficacy of prayer are coming in, but more slowly.

Magic, however, was thoroughly debunked long ago.

I honestly don't know because I've never practiced witchcraft before, and even if I did, I wouldn't use it to hurt others. I am a Wiccan, and I follow the Wiccan Rede of harming no one. I do, however, know that there are supernatural occurrences (such as earthbound human spirits and other paranormal phenomena) in this world that cannot be explained or debunked by modern science or by any holy texts (such as the Bible) or other religious dogmas.

See.
That nocebo effect strong. Even if i don't hex anybody all I got to say I did. For the nocebo effect to work you got to say it to someone who believes. So a christian would be effected strongly but not an atheist if I just tell them i did and didn't hex them.

Just look at Greg Locke. Folk were leaving tarot cards in his tent. He was mad about it. But I doubt any witches actually left any. Look at how negatively he was affected. Just the mere suggestion got him riled up.
See. That's the power we have. We don't even have to snap our fingers or wiggle our noses to have an effect on others, especially the most sensitive.

I honestly think that unless there is a very good and compelling reason for someone to harm someone else with magic, the spirits will just turn on that person and make them the victim of their own spell.

However these days, all of those negative energies don't work very well since we're in a more positive energy across the world. Any curse or something would go back to the sender very quickly even independently of the reason I stated above.

So nobody can be hurt by witchcraft. Spirituality is not a weapon, and it not a gun or a sword to kill or hurt people with. It exists for the benefit of people.

If you have no experience with it, then how are you able to speak intelligently to its effectiveness?
That is the whole problem. In all my 80+ years, I have had no experience which points to with God, soul, ghosts or effectiveness of witchcraft. The only conclusion that I draw from it is that these are fictitious, peoples' imagination.

Both can either be deemed effective or bogus, depending on the speaker. Magic is no more bunk than prayer is and vice versa.

Quite often the difference between the two centers on approach. Prayer is the beseeching of a higher, divine intervention to manifest the desired thing. Magic most often, but not always is, to partially quote the infamous Aleister Crowley, "causing change to occur in conformity with Will." I.e., exerting one's own influence vs seeking external (divine) influence. But magic can be divided in form between theurgy ("god working") and thaumaturgy ("miracle working"); the former, like prayer seeks the attention and influence or protection of a divine source in the working which often relates to a spiritual rather than materialistic goal. The latter is to employ a person's own ability to influence, commonly for materialistic purposes or goetic purposes.
