People lie on polls, and pollsters fudge. Nevertheless he does seem like he'll get the votes. Nobody is compromising. Everybody is still stiff backing, and so every issue is treated as a gun to the head.

As far as the Zogby poll goes, 538 rates them as having a moderate Republican lean: .6 and a grade of C+ How FiveThirtyEight Calculates Pollster Ratings discusses the methodology.

Given that, it's a reminder that the battle for America's future is not going to be an easy one and a spur for me to give more money to Democrats.

I suspect there are more of us who think he's doing a bad job than those who think he's doing well. The discrepancy in the poll is probably because it doesn't distinguish between respondents who think he's doing well from those who feel he is.

Nate Silver's 538 analyzed 473 Zogby polls and found they lean Republican, correctly predict races only 77% of the time (which is shameful for modern polling) and graded them C+ at best. Furthermore, the figure of 52% approval cited in the OP is based on an analysis of four online polls with margins of error ranging from 3.3 points to 5.2 points. Furthermore, Nate Silver has called John Zogby "The worst pollster in the world".

In addition, the 538 average approval/disapproval rating for Mr. Trump as of 11 hours ago is 54.3% disapprove v 42.1% approve.

Last, the Real Clear Politics average approval/disapproval rating for Mr. Trump is 54.4% disapprove v 44% approve.

You should be careful, Shaul. You'll rot your mind paying too much attention to rotten polls.

I think the Donald is doing a great job in ruining the reputation of the US in the world, making Europe great again by comparison. Another 4 years of Trump will help to isolate the US even more. I'm looking forward to
a further reduction of troops in Germany,
dissolution of NATO,
replacing the US$ with the € as a reserve currency,
moving UN headquarters away from New York and
a collapse of the US economy.

I think the US needs 4 more years of Trump to come to its senses.

I think the poll is bad.

Zogby is not really seen as a legitimate poll by those who study such measures in general. One of the main reasons for that is that the company doesn’t release to the public its own methods on how it conducted their polling for many of its releases. Transparency is a big deal for most polls, and even the Trump-friendly Rasmussen let’s people see how they conduct themselves.
