I think your idea makes sense in the big picture, and for the long term solution of it all. If democrats get the majority they will only be blamed for everything bad that comes from the Trump administration. And the economy might be able to sustain some stability for two years until the midterms, and then perhaps get a democrat majority in both the senate and house. It will be ugly and painful, but probably the best case scenario to get rid of MAGA.

If the Maga's do not break away from the main Republican party, then the only other option I see is another civil war which would be much more fatal. Giving them what they want, and people get inconvenienced but for the most part won't die at least not at the rate of a war.

I really hate to say it but at this point we may as well let the republicans just burn the whole country to the ground. It seems to be the only thing that will finally wake the American people up. I really don't think there is going to be any avoiding it.
