Does anyone miss their hometown?

As many of you know, I did not grow up in Idaho, I am originally from Washington State. Lately, I've been missing it real bad like. I'll give you some pictures to show the difference of my surroundings:

This is a picture of the only 'running' water we have in town. This picture was taken when in my four years being here, it was at the highest I've ever seen.

Are there any places that you will call your 'hometown' even though you've moved away? Show us some pictures!

I left my "hometown" of Alabama about two years ago to live in Rhode Island. I do not miss it at all.

I can't miss my hometown...Everything in this state is less than an hour away from everything else!

I do very much miss my hometown, particularly the forest where I grew up. It was a major part of my life's development and I relish it when I'm there. Often when I meditate, I envision myself there.

Often
I would look out calmly
Quietly
Across the morning wood.
The sun would rise rosy
And I would barely feel
The dew-colored air that would still be cold.
Sometimes I would shake from the bite.
But always,
It was worth the Time.

I yearn for those days
Now that I’m gone from those woods.
I think my soul goes back there when it’s lost.
And distantly,
It wanders the cool forest nights
Where the stars illuminate the emerald needles of those trees.
A treasure beyond any price.

Calmly. Quietly.
A fog creeps down from the hill and settles.
It lies like a cool, moist blanket
That I will cover myself in.

No. I hate my hometown of Shepparton, Victoria, Australia. It has been changed so much and so poorly the townplanners should be shot. It looks like the place is made up of left-over town pieces from somewhere else. When I happen to visit relatives there, all the nice memories of places have been destroyed. Sad.

I definitely miss my hometown. I grew up in the Blue Ridge Mountains in VA. It's basically the most beautiful place on earth!

I miss the people in my hometown, and the fact that my hometown wasn't nearly as hot as phoenix, but the town itself was ugly, small, and boring. I've created a new hometown. I don't miss it.

Yes, but only because most of my friends still live there. I miss being a 5 minute drive away, as opposed to the 2 hours it is now. =(

Not yet. I've been hanging out with Luke Wolf for the past few days, and I'm still exploring his town.
After we get our band going and under way, if we decide to stay here (which isn't likly), then I'll really start to miss it.

It's funny. When I first left, definitely not. After a couple years, once it began to set in...wow did it set in.

Still, I don't intend to move back. The sights are better here.

Nearly anyone who's experienced Atlanta's abysmal traffic and lack of public transportation would miss their home town if the idea of a "long drive in traffic" was 15 minutes to get across town.

I certainly miss my home town's cooler weather, but here I can garden year round.

There aren't any real lakes here, though. :(

Now *this* is a lake!

No. I miss the West Texas desert, especially the sky..... but not Lubbock. I hated that town my whole life, and I've been in love with Portland since I got here.

The sky, though....

I so hear you! I've lived in VA my entire life and family who live out in the mountains of VA. I love driving across state to visit my husband's family in TN. I can always tell when we've crossed the state line.

There's just no place home.
