We had a dispute in the house. Wife decided to put a Christmas Wreath on the front door. She bought one that has blinking white and multi color lights.

So I bought a big silver-blue Bow and a string of threaded Silver Stars from Michaels Arts and Crafts to put on the wreath.

Then a bit of trouble started.

The Bow has a twist-tie to attach it to the wreath. I told her to decorate the wreath.

She started to attach the BIG Silver-Blue Bow to the BOTTOM of the Christmas Wreath.

I said, "This is not proper. The BOW is attached to the TOP of the Christmas Wreath". She got angry, "No! Don't be stupid! The bow goes on the BOTTOM."...

I then went on the internet to search for "Buckingham Palace Christmas Wreath" images, but apparently they don't hang a Christmas Wreath on the gates nor the doors of Buckingham Palace. Which I found strange.

What do you say? Does the BOW on the Christmas wreath go on the TOP or the BOTTOM to be "proper"?

Traditionally it goes on the top in order to help hide any type of fastener you would use to hang it.

Generally Christmas bows are red, and if someone got drunk and put their head through the wreath, they would want the bow on the bottom.

Just did a google image search for "Christmas wreath". It seems that most of the wreaths that have bows have them at the top (and most are red). But it is by no means unanimous, so do what you want.
