Does discrimination happen all the time?

People only discriminate when all things are not equal. We are all different from each other but is it right that a lot of people find faults and non comparisons with each other. This perhaps happens in our multicultural society when we are so diverse from each other.

Technically speaking, discrimination is not a bad thing. I often kid that marriage is an act of discrimination.

It just turns out that in everyday language "discrimination" is shorthand for unfair discrimination.

As Luis pointed out, discrimination can refer to a swathe of different ideas ranging from one's sexual preferences to how you treat ethnic minorities. Just like with racial/racist jokes, I always ask what one's intent purportedly is.

Huh?
Please explain what you mean.

Yes we are all different.
Even amongst the same "race" we are still different.

Discrimination happens because people concentrate on the differences rather than the similarities.
