How to you force yourself to believe something without any evidence that it actually exists?
I sure hope you don't, because that would be kind of dumb, Imo
Sorry, but my brain requires verifiable evidence for fantastical claims, so I don't see the point in believing ANYTHING without evidence.
My mind requires evidence but God is the one entity that can never be verified, so I accept the evidence God provides since I consider that the logical thing to do.

It's clear that a god that wants everyone to believe in him does not exist, else there would be no atheists. A god would be perfectly capable of making his existence obvious. So if a god exists, then he's purposely hiding himself, which begs the question--why would he want a relationship with people, hide himself, and then get mad at people who don't believe in him?

Actually no.

The following is what every scripture teach: Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

But some tend to use that very gift to deny the gift.

How to you force yourself to believe something without any evidence that it actually exists? If I told you that invisible magical pixies exist and will grant you any wish your heart desires, just as long as you sincerely believe in them without any evidence, would you be able to shut down your logic and reason and just make yourself believe that they're real?

Sorry, but my brain requires verifiable evidence for fantastical claims, so I don't see the point in believing ANYTHING without evidence. Sadly, there are far too many people who will accept any ridiculous claim on face value, which is why we have people who believe that the Earth is flat, that vaccines cause autism, and that climate change and CORONA-19 are just made up hoaxes.
God for me is infinite space which I don't think anybody will be proving any time soon, but it's easy for me to believe it

No, because God is not an object. God is Spirit, whatever that is.
I have no problem with unknowable entities.... It is the known entities I have problems with.

Eh, for some of us the gods do have objective, physical forms. It's why I can't take this "there's no evidence for gods" seriously. One of the gods I worship is literally setting in the western sky right now - anybody can see it, plainly, and study it with their own senses as well as hard science. Telling me Sun doesn't exist and there's no evidence for it is nonsense.

Your brain requires evidence or you require evidence?

If your thinking is controlled by mechanism of brain, then how do you know the evidence from non evidence? How do you know the truth value of any proposition?

So sorry if I stepped on your beliefs about God. Of course, I was only referring to the Abrahamic version of God.

From what I have read about Druidry, it is a really cool religion. I am not all that fond of the Abrahamic God, but I try to live with Him since the Baha'i Faith is the religion that makes the most sense to me.

It's a contextual difference. It's less to do with the word God. So it's impossible to answer whether God exist or form opinions when the word means nothing.

For example, one would call the sun the sun (as a name to a person). It's still a god but dropping the mystic word and calling it sun makes it no different than calling it a god.

But God to some abrahamics is like the word sun. They don't have a word so it can't be described. The sun can.

But the context is different so I'm not sure you and most non abrahamics and some atheists like myself (edit) cannot answer the question. We need to think of the questioners context of the word not our own. I personally can't do that, so how do we answer the question?

I struggle with this always. I have no answer. I believe. It is enough for me. I just know enough, not to use my belief as an answer to questions of the physical world.

You're not alone. There are plenty of people who feel that faith is sufficient for belief. I'm just not among them. I care more about what's true and faith is simply not a reliable means of ascertaining truth.

My mind requires evidence but God is the one entity that can never be verified, so I accept the evidence God provides since I consider that the logical thing to do.

I have no idea how you can accept 'evidence' from a being that you admit it's impossible to verify actually exists. Nothing about that seems logical to me.

So again, HOW do you get yourself to sincerely believe something that you admit can never be verified? Would it also be easy for you to get yourself to believe in invisible magical pixies? If not, why? What's the difference?

Well, all of the evidence we have suggests that a brain is required for a person to have thoughts. If that notion bothers you for some reason, we can go ahead and just say that I require verifiable evidence and don't see the logic in believing anything without evidence. Why would you believe something when you have no verifiable evidence that it's true? .

That's what makes me me and you you. Infinite space is a bit more awesome and powerful than pixies in my opinion.
Although the idea of pixies is pretty cool though

I wouldn't even say that I believe it I would say that I in fact know it. Of course I'm only referring to what I know and nobody else.

That is OK. I have no problem with your position. Since I do not inject religious belief into discussions of fact based things like scientific subjects, there is always that to be a bridge for us all. For me, it is always going to be that bridge. Unfortunately, it is a bridge that frightens many, more evangelical believers.

I use my belief as an answer to questions regarding physical world. I don't see a problem with it. I view God as infinite space so I guess one could say infinity starts to get a little non-physical LOL

The problem is that there is nothing to support belief as an explanation for the evidence. It does not eliminate God to stick to the evidence in a scientific discussion for instance. It is just that there is no evidence for God, against God or that shows the actions of God as necessary. Someone else could come up with a different belief to explain things and it would be just as plausible as your belief.
