Does God want everyone to believe in him?

It would make sense why certain people never come around to believing in God in this case then. The reason why people never believe in God is simply because he never reveals himself to them, as a result they have no choice but to disbelieve. God could reveal himself to them through people around them but he doesn't. This is partially God's fault and partially the fault of those who claim to be God's servants.

I don't know... What do you guys think?
I concur that some of it is (if not all) God's fault. After all, there are regions in the brain that can provide the "divinely inspired" or whatever sensation. Whether you believe divinity is actually the root cause is irrelevant: if you LACK this function, you will NEVER feel it. It's like God is griping about people not liking His Facebook page but Facebook is down for some people so they couldn't even get on. Even on message boards, I'll see something like:

Post 1: Hey, whatcha think?
Post 2 (an hour later): HEY WHY DOES NO ONE ON EARTH CARE ABOUT MY THREAD?

:p

Can't argue there . . . but why do you suppose this God would have abandoned a child born a Christian?

He hates me? :( What did I ever do to Him?
Despite a few bones in the bible thrown to get us to believe He loves us all, He's just simply not portrayed that way. I mean, the bible only deals with a small portion of a Mediterranean locale ... it never deals with anyone else. "Everyone" means a lot fewer people than most people assume.

Who told you that God still speaks to us apart from his revealed word (i.e. the Bible)? (I realize God answers prayer as well, but he could've told you yes, no, or wait. And we're not very patient as human beings.)
God can also tell you to stop being a Christian to further another goal. :)

It is not a religious idea, but a logic idea. Everything needs the creator, the inventor or the generator. as well as the universe, something made it like we see today. and that thing is the deity. the creator.
A waterfall doesn't need a deity to exist. It only needs running water and a cliff. :)

4. God believers are trying to convince me that God exists, and rain, personal beliefs, and religious books are somehow proof. They aren't.
With my luck, I'd pray for God to appear before an atheist, He would, and then after I leave, whisper in your ear, "Yeah, I exist, but DAAAAAAMN she's crazy." :)

The free-will argument usually serves as a good defense against your point. God gave us reason and free will. If He reveals Himself in a direct manner and interfere with our evolution as spiritual entites in human form than that undermines our free will and the whole experience of living.
Free will does not exist, only will. It is not free. God in the bible has NO issue with screwing with people, even acknowledging in Job that what He is doing is inappropriate at the very least. "High Gods" were aloof and did not interact with reality much if at all. They are almost always put on the back burner because humans crave INTERACTION.

Oh, the irony and I thought God was the only iron!
According to the bible, God cannot win against iron-armed warriors. Fairies work the same way, IIRC.

Hmmm. Why so evasive? Why so belligerent? I didn't say or even suggest that you believe in my God. No one is asking you to "just believe." I don't think anyone here believes you are prepared to open your eyes to see what is in front of your face.

Tell us where your heart is; that is, tell us about your god. It seems to be science. Tell us how science teaches you appreciate the Alaskan landscape, for instance, or how it connects you to the universe and the weirdo next door.

You keep asking for proof. Does a scientific mathematical proof carry any meaning at all for a kindergartner?
I recently moved to the Northeast after being a Southerner all my life. The forests are GORGEOUS. Read colonists' views of the forests, however, and they seem to be terrified of everything in there, including the trees. They weren't atheists by and large, so how can you be terrified of a beautiful scene?

How a tiny seed becomes a huge tree?
How that works?
How a tiny sperm and an egg becomes a wise human being?
How that works?
Biology 101

That people slept through 3rd grade science classes is not anyone's fault but theirs.

It's possible that God is working around you and you just don't realize it. (Job 23:13, Ecclesiastes 3:11) There isn't always a whole lot of evidence for God when you look at events in our lives because we don't know what they lead up to.

Because that supreme being doesn't care? [Edit] Or because he hates us fr some reason?
Oh, so you meant for this to be in Same Faith Debates or perhaps in one of the Christianity DIRs?

There you might perhaps take as a premise that the Bible is accurate and expect no contest. But in General Religious Debates?

Obviously the only Creator does not want some people to believe in him. God made a promise, "I will fill Hell with jinn and men." The Most High always fulfills Hisp promises.

I agree. In most states the sperm egg thing is taught in seventh grade. If you don't understand, it's due to you sleeping in seventh grade (probably) not third.

Answer then the question, what makes the tiny sperm and the egg to become a human being.
Tell it to me in your own words to prove me wrong and ignorant about the science of the 7th grade,
if you don't then don't direct me to read biology.

No. I'd rather you remain ignorant on the process if you're too obtuse to look it up in a seventh grade textbook or on Wikipedia.

Happy blissfulness! [emoji106]

I know actually that you won't answer the question and you'll direct me to read something.
You weren't able to prove me wrong, good luck

Nope. I could easily show what science states, but if you'd rather remain ignorant than look up Wikipedia, then I'd rather you remain ignorant, too.

Go ahead, remain ignorant. Please.

No, you don't have the answer otherwise you can prove me wrong, shame on you.

There is sufficient evidence for me. What's wrong with you? You see, we've considered our life experiences and the evidences we are willing or unwilling to accept and have arrived at a conclusion. It's a very personal conclusion and both of us rely heavily on faith to get there. Oh, I know. You think faith is a four letter word. That it is evil and beneath you. Ironically and almost tragically so, we are all creatures of faith. Only the true agnostic can claim to be without any faith.

Very good point SP!

Every person has faith, they just choose to believe in different things. One person can have faith there is a God, and another person has faith in science that says there is no God. Everyone uses faith every day. When we go to our car to start it, we don't say, "boy, I sure hope my car starts." (I'm sure there are some people that do because of unreliable vehicles) When a person buys food from the store, they take it home and eat it, they have faith that it is good. When we buy medicine from the store, we take it, no questions asked. We go to the Dr. and he prescribes medicine, we get it filled and take it, no questions asked. Everyone has faith, it's just a matter of where we put it to work.

Not accepted. It's reasonable to believe in things which have been proved accurate multiple times in the past. It is not reasonable to believe in that which is undetectable by any means devised.

Ok you have the burden of proof.

You say something exist, show us how it exist.

If you cannot then it is right up there with big foot and nesse.

If God wants me to spend my life following his commands, rules, etc, he could easily spend 5 minutes of his time contacting me directly. God shows no interest in me so why should I show any interest in God?
