Does going in to Hobo lifestyle make me truly homeless?

Since my plan is to live in a van, it kind of does not feel as a homeless way of life, but more as a free way of living, not depended on one spesific place i must go to each night.

When someone tell you " i am living a Hobo lifestyle" what is your impression of that kinnd of person?

Personally i do not worry about what you guys, or people in Norway think of me and my choices :) but its nice to hear your opinions.

Outa here... bye-bye!
I know a lot of people are doing the Nomad lifestyle nowadays, in their RV.
Since working online became so common during the pandemic, why not
work on the road? However, I'd think it'd be easier in warm climates, rather
than Norway?

When I hear "hobo" I think of someone who hops freight trains with no particular destination in mind.

In my mind, vagabond is a better term for someone who lives in a van ("Vanabond"?)

I would think so. I literally spent decades as a wandering nomad: hitchhiking, hopping freight trains, working for a traveling carnival, etc, and I can definitely tell you it's a lot easier and a lot more fun in warm weather.

That said, I always had this nasty nack for winding up in places like Colorado in the winter and death valley in the summer. I used to tell people, "I'm not stupid, I'm just always 6 months behind schedule".

Having known homeless people I have to say no. The homeless that I knew of were not homeless by choice, but rather due to circumstances. Granted the cause was usually their own poor choices, but they did not see it coming to this.

lol, I hear ya. I was a rock roady in my youth, kinda vagabond lifestyle going wherever the band tour
took me. At least I didn't have to 'rough it' in hotels most of the time but in some places the truck
was home. Hardest thing was wardrobe, had to buy and shed winter coats a few times no room.

I like the term nomad or gypsy.

When you need a shower and a few days of rest on your way to Spain or Italy, you'll be welcome. You wouldn't be the first.

I will keep that in mind :)
And when i do start to travel i will keep posting in RF about it, not always giving away my location, but in a general term i think.

If you never pay a gas, electricity or water bill anywhere, nor local taxes, you’re probably homeless. But on the other hand, if your vehicle is roadworthy, taxed, and you fill it up with fuel, then that’s your home.
