Jw's, Christadelphians, SDA's and H. W. Armstrong. These four religions.Believe that when you die your mind, body, and spirit.Cease to exist.Until you can be resurrected.Does that sound scary to you?It just to scare me.But I just to dabble in the Jw religion. And finally came to the conclusion. That if the afterlife is like the Jws say it's ok.But after I stop dabbling in the Jw religion.I became Methodist and thought I might want to go to heaven in some spirit form. Then it hit me.With my dabbling in the Jw religion. And becoming Methodist.I had come to accept both types of afterlife. What about you?
What is the practical difference between, say, staying really dead for 100 billion years and then resurrect consciousness, and not having ever lost consciousness to start with?

If your asking which is more effective. It depends on the person and their beliefs.:)

Does that make your views correct? How would you prove it? Probably by citing your sacred texts. If so, that would be circular reasoning.

I don't know if my bible heaven is real.Until I get there. That is why the bible is hope for things unseen.Like in Hebrews 11:1

But you agree that staying dead for an unlimited amount of time, under the assumption of resurrecting, should not scare anyone. From a psychological point of view, that is equivalent of never having died.

I find Resurrection Day is Jesus' coming Millennium-Long Day of governing over Earth for a thousand years.
This is why the 'future tense' is used that there 'is going to be' a resurrection.... Acts of the Apostles 24:15.
In Scripture the dead know nothing - ( Psalms 6:5; Psalms 13:3; Psalms 115:17; Isaiah 38:18; Ecclesiastes 9:5 )
That is why Jesus likened death to 'sleep' at John 11:11-14.
No post-mortem penalty for sin, No double jeopardy for sin. Death being sin's total asking price tag - Romans 6:23,7.
Thus, when a person is resurrected (some to Heaven, most on Earth) that is when they will become conscious again.

Why should we care what the Bible says? Other religious texts say different things. Why is yours right and theirs wrong?
Since all the religions and people mentioned in the OP - Jehovah's Witnesses, Christadelphians, Seventh-Day Adventists, Methodists and H. W. Armstrong - are all Christian denominations or people - I answered as if it were a question about Christianity and interpretations of the Bible.

Do you believe it was unreasonable for me to do this?

Religion is mankind's attempt to understand God. I have found no religion that actually understands God at all. Dabble if you will but take it with a grain of salt.

We are Spiritual beings in our true natures. We are Eternal. This physical world exists for good reason. On the other hand, it is only a tool.

If you look for purpose, you can Discover much more than you realize. All the secrets of the universe stare us all in the face. God places knowledge around us all. It waits to be Discovered.

That's what I see. It's very clear!!

It does not scare me at all. In fact, even the idea that there is no afterlife at all does not scare me.

Why should the idea of souil sleep concern you if you are Christian?
All Christians i think believe that we are created from nothing...would not this also be consistent with the idea that our creator is powerful enough to resurrect us and give us new bodies?

As i understand it, practicing Christian scholars generally agree that God is outside of time and space...he is not restricted by these things.

I think i would worry a whole lot more if after this life it [my eternal existence] was "kaput"!

" Jw's, Christadelphians, SDA's and H. W. Armstrong.These four religions. "

Aren't these denominations/sects of the religion "Hellenist/Pauline/Christianity" instead of naming them separate " Religions" as one has described them, please? Right?

Yes in my seeking I have gathered beliefs from various sources. It can be confusing at times of course and Satan uses false beliefs to lead people away from the truth and to discredit the Bible.
How many times do you hear people say that you can get any belief from the Bible. Some false beliefs that are said to be interpretations of the Bible can be convincing and many of them in themselves are not so important but it is amazing how beliefs are bound together and once you believe one false belief then you find that you have to interpret something else in a particular way to fit that false belief.
There are some things in Ecclesiastes and the Psalms that can be hard to understand when it comes to what happens at death and can look on the surface like anihilationism at death and some reading about and thinking around those scriptures can help your overall understanding of the subject.

Sorry about that Frank, I just realised this thread is quite old.
I don't get emails about posts so sometimes I end up muddled up about where I am and what I am doing.
