Does your faith lessen the fear of death?

Boy, Orichalcum you are sure full of questions lately! I like them though.

Yeah, I don't fear death, we must all die and I know in my heart it is not an "end", just a change to something else.

i don't really worry too much about death, that's not really the point of why we are here. All i try to do is be mindful of mitzvot and try to be as good a me as a i can:bounce

As you get older you seem to fear death less and less, more and more of those you have loved have gone on before.
And meeting them again in God is hardly a fear.

I definitely lessens it. I have faith that death is not the end of it all, which would be horrible. It is the beginning of something far better than what I have here. (of course the whole "eternity" thing seems really scary. I can't imagine doing anything for eternity. I even get scared thinking about having to do something for a week! :))

I have never been afraid of death - perhaps the pain of dying, but not death itself. Now I feel as if I shall just be 'going home':)

I've never really been afraid of death I don't think. Its more that Im afraid of running out of time to do the things I want to do.

I just had an experience today which made my faith considerably higher so, at this moment, I would have to say that I am feeling pretty good about the whole reincarnation dealio.

If by "lessen the fear of" you mean "not worry about it," then yea. :) I'm still afraid of dying, but I think that's my youth talking. I try to not worry about it, since when it happens, it'll happen.

I plan to never die. So far, so good. Even if I do die, who cares? I'll just join the greatest party for all eternity. Pass the popcorn!

But seriously though, I'm not even sure how I'm still alive. I've been through stuff that shoulda killed me. More reasons to thank the big guy.

Death is of no concern for a Vigil. It is in the future, and worry of the future is futile. We do not know the future, we do not know what will happen after we die. So why worry? Let us worry about now, and worry about the future when we get there.

:sarcastic Why? you would have no conciousness to think about how bad it is you would just die and that would be it. As for me I never really feared death because of the reason above so my faith has not lessened my fear but has changed the way I view death.

Like others have said, I don't focus on this; but I don't fear it. It's something everybody, bar none, gets to do, so why be afraid? I don't want to experience it for quite a while yet, of course, but the timing isn't something any of us has control over.
