Yes and no. Enemies aren't always "in your face' but rather many times is just manipulating situations, working their way until they can spring it up on you.

I don't understand how the answer can be "no." If you are unaffected by these enemies, you are unaffected by their manipulations, no?

Perhaps you can provide me a specific example to demonstrate how my question can be answered "no?"

Unaffected is temporal.

If someone had roped you into a ponzi scheme, you may have thought everything was fine, unaffected until the bottom dropped out.

If an entity and convinced you that there is no God and no eternity... would it mean you aren't affected?

In either case, is one affected by their enemy or their own gullibility?

Only if one gives their enemy such power. If I'm gullible, I'm accountable for that, not my enemy.

Case 1: I gave my enemy the power to rope me into a Ponzi scheme.

Case 2: I gave my enemy the power to convince me of no eternity and no god.

I am entirely responsible for the outcome in either case because I gave my enemy power to manipulate me. As a result of giving the enemy that power, I am responsible for the effect of the power I gave them.

Many are too quick to blame someone or something else for their misfortunes.

I don't personally practice it but I know there is one Lavenderist girl who talks about astral projecting. I don't want to be separated from my body so I just don't do it.

And if there is a traitor that looked like and thought was a friend?

Then lesson learned.

Does anything productive come in making this person the enemy?

To have an enemy brings forth hatred, an entirely unproductive emotion I have no use for. The only one that hating another hurts is me.

Condemn the behavior, not the being.

OK... it seems a little strange to me. But, hey, you are a free-will spiritual agent.

side thought...

He is your enemy wether you make him an enemy or not... good statement though.

Judas was the enemy of Jesus but Jesus wasn't the enemy of Judas.

Really?

I wish I was like this. My dreams are bonkers and yet my brain is like, this is perfectly normal - there must always have been a hatch to the North Sea in my hall cupboard.

It isn't always a good thing. It means that it is too easy to interrupt the narrative flow or vision of a dream sometimes. Over the years I've gotten better at not doing this (staying in character, as it were) but when I fall off cliffs or whatever I still can't ever manage to hit the ground.

Except that one time when I managed to not ruin the experience of falling to my character's death in a dream. Which was... a fascinating experience in some ways, extremely uncomfortable in others. Would not recommend. The crunch of it was.... ugh. But being lucid, the "I" awareness didn't die, so it was just... er... let's just go with "would not recommend" willingly having that experience. o_O
