Why does every picture of Durga that I can find on web show Her with pink skin?
Is She not dark-blue?
Pink for girls, blue for boys. Every kid knows that.
I see. But seeing Durga in pink gives me the feeling that She has been 'westernized'.You are thinking of Kali. She is always displayed as dark skinned.
Durga is the High Goddess whose inherent energy manifests as this entire cosmos. She is the embodiment of all energy, power, action and motion that happens anywhere and any when. What's Durga's significance? What is she the goddess of? (I'm too lazy to Google it so I'm looking for the real world answer.)

In a nutshell, why are there so many minor (for lack of a better word) gods below the Big Three (Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva) that seem to do the heavy lifting?
Brahma, Vishnu, Siva are the High Gods. Saraswati, Lakshmi, Durga are the High Goddesses. That is why Durga requires so many hands, 8, 10, 16, 20.. After all, she has to have more hands to hold the armament given to her by all Gods. Jai Maa Durge.
