My overall philosophy is Advaita Vedanta. Advaita=nondual=God and creation are not-two.
The universe is understood as a divine play/drama of this one God/Brahman. In Act I he separates Himself from Himself and becomes the many. In Act II Brahman returns Himself to Himself (we find Oneness).
Why?=To experience the joy and growth of progressing from extreme finiteness to infiniteness,
Also, I believe we are not just physical bodies but have interpenetrating astral and soul bodies that animate life. At death these subtle bodies continue on and will reincarnate another physical body for more learning and growth experiences until Moksha/Liberation in realization of the Oneness.
As part of this advanced souls will take on physical bodies for the purpose of guiding others on the journey. One of many such beings was Jesus. There is a list of many saints/gurus/avatars within the Hindu tradition which I have come to believe have produced the highest spiritual tradition of mankind.
Christianity then as expressed in the Westminster Confession of Faith places too much emphasis on the importance of Jesus especially when it includes concepts like Jesus' sacrificial death.
My understanding of your beliefs is summarized in Wikipedia:
The confession is a systematic exposition of Calvinist theology (which neo-orthodox scholars refer to as "scholastic Calvinism"), influenced by Puritan and covenant theology.[6] It includes doctrines common to most of Christianity such as the Trinity and Jesus' sacrificial death and resurrection, and it contains doctrines specific to Protestantism such as sola scriptura and sola fide. Its more controversial features include the covenant of works with Adam, the Puritan doctrine that assurance of salvation is not a necessary consequence of faith, a minimalist conception of worship, and Puritan Sabbatarianism.[citation needed]
