Websites like Wiki and Britannica explains ectoplasm as a white, viscous substance that comes out of the openings of the physical body of spiritualist mediums, once they are in a trance like state during seance.
It is visible only in a darkened room/atmosphere.
Once the ectoplasm comes out of the medium's physical body, it is then used by nearby spirit entities to materialize/manifest themselves in this material world.
There have been cases in the late 1800s and early 1900s (hoping they were genuine and not fakes) where more than one spirit entity materialized in the ectoplasm (which was emitted by the medium).
Could it be that this ectoplasm is the same thing as the astral/subtle body? ... If so, then why do you think earthbound spirits need OUR ectoplasm or astral bodies (which is a part of us humans) to manifest themselves?
I mean don't they manifest just fine in haunted houses (without the aid of our ectoplasm) and spook the residents.
What are your opinions on this matter?
