I was told to post this.

I've been reading about this guy Ed Roberts very interesting guy. He also appiled for vocational rehabilitation. The folk said he was too disabled to help. Then later he became the CEO of said vocational rehab. Guy was extremely petty in a good way reading about him. He tricked a college into not only letting him in but accommodating him and there's stories about him that are hilarious. Like he went with a marine wildlife specialist out to sea almost fell into shark infested water and instead of freaking out just joked around talking about how bad the news would be if his friend accidently fed a disabled guy to the sharks. His poor friend was astonished.

Thats what he looked like. Imma post some links about him. He survived polio and was a huge disability rights activist.

The interesting thing is Ed was on meds that was supposed to prevent him from having kids when Lee was born... I dont know the whole story if that was supposed to be a side effect, if Ed didnt know that until after Lee was born, if that's what Ed wanted or not but either way you can see it did not do that. I wonder what his reaction was when his wife told him she was preggo. If it were me and I was mostly paralyzed from the neck down (Ed wasn't completely paralyzed just mostly) and on meds that was supposed to prevent me from having a kid first thing out of my mouth I hope wouldve been a joke about how stubborn the kid is.

Ed supposedly loved Lee however and was happy raising him.

He apparently taught courses on karate and would knock his assistant to the ground hitting him with the wheelchair...did not know that about him till today

I was a bit disappointed. But only because I could not recognize anyone. If that was done in Minnesota the odds are that it was done with an organization that I used to be in. But that was about 15 years after I left. Too bad the video is so incredibly grainy.
