Planets with a molten iron metallic core generate magnetic fields, eg, Earth.
Those without one, have no magnetic field, eg, Mars.
Is this fella saying that the core is irrelevant?
If so, how does he explain the difference between Earth & Mars?

Meow Mix should weigh in on this.
(She doesn't pontificate about gears, & I don't about cosmology.)
