Elon Musk Behind Fake Harris Ads

Deeply concerning
Oh it is deeply concerning but probably not illegal, but it will reinforce the idea of Trump and Musk as the champions of the ignored.
This is where Soros if he was what they claim should offer them 2 million to repudiate their agreement with Trump.

There ought to be a law comes to mind, but even though it is ugly, it is free speech, the question is what people actually think of the offer.

Is it "free speech" to pay someone to sign something? Or paid speech? Not that free imo

"Plan to give $1m per day until November 5 election could violate law against using cash to induce voting, experts say."

It seems like it very well could be illegal. But by the time charges would get filed it would be too late anyways imo.

The thing is, however, that to sign the petition (which is requirement for winning) it is necessary to be a registered voter in one of the 7 battleground states. That could tip it into the illegal, since it is not only illegal to pay (or reward) someone for voting, it is also illegal to pay or reward them for registering.

But they are not being paid for voting, only for signing an irrelevant petition to be presented to whom? That they might feel an obligation to vote for the opinion of the payer is too ambiguous to count for much. It is despicable behaviour by someone with more money than is good for him, but ultimately he can give it to anyone he wants to do long as there is not a formal expectation and since it is available to any registrant that is already bypassed. I'm sure Musk ran this by at least a few lawyers and at least that may be why it is only available to already registered.

It is like handing out water, legal outside of the defined voting area but not within. :(
