Entertainment/media devoid of violence?

an anarchist

Your local loco.
I would like to remove violent influences from my life. A big exposure of violence to people is media. The top video games and movies are typically violent.

I wanted to make a thread and ask about forms of entertainment that do not have violence or the glorification of violence in them.

There is sports. There is card games. What else is there? What are some favorite movies or shows of yours that do not have violence?

I miss fishing, perhaps I should get back into that. Oh but poor fishys putting a hook through their cheek isn’t nice. Scratch that idea.

Spiritual practice occupies my time too and is not violent.

I look through my catalog of video games, and most are rated M for violence. Such is the norm.

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.

Okay I'll play, even though I absolutely love violent video games, but for my non-violent category I do enjoy Hoyle card and board games with their fun AI characters.

I'm a big huge fan of chess games particularly chessmasters and of course the VR version of chess ultra where I get the play with the grim reaper for my soul. Although I'll let you determine whether you think that's violent or not , but regardless playing for your soul is quite appealing and enthralling.

Of course I also love all sorts of racing games both VR and regular versions.

We watch the British Antiques Road Trip - a reality competition show. And there's Antiques Road Show, both US and UK

We also watch archeology and other science shows.

Try nature walks. As a bonus benefit they can improve your health. Or you might take up painting if you can draw well. Something I am not gifted with, alas. If you can't, same as myself, then visiting art galleries is an alternative. One thing that can be entertaining is volunteer work. It can be very spiritually rewarding!

The weather has finally dropped off in my hot desert where I live. Last month our lows were mid 80s so even at 4am it was pretty warm for a walk. Gonna go for a walk right now actually before it gets dark.
I’ve picked up drawing these past couple weeks. I’ve been drawing dinosaurs.

Chess is an abstraction of war - but it's so far removed from reality that one can easily argue that there's no violence in it.

Nothing my eye, Something for sure
I always wanted to try creative writing. With movies conflict drives the story 100% of the time as a rule. Just once I'd like to see a story driven by harmony and balance. What might that look like?
