Essay On Dawkin's View Of Religion

For my English A/S Level original writing piece I want to do an critique of Dawkin's anti-religious view and am hoping to include an analysis of his mini series.

I know i should be doing my own work  but I was hoping maybe you could just give me a bit of knowledge on the issue, advise me, give me your arguments for/against Dawkins ideas. This would be very helpful because I missed the mini documentary Dawkins made when it was on TV :bonk:

ps. if anyone knows where i could find all/ most of the documentary on t'internet, that would be excellent.

Here is an online library of some of Dawkins works.
The Blind watchmaker is there as well which should give you more than enough info for a good critique of his views.

Also, I`m fairly familiar with dawkins work and outlook on religion and support of secular causes.
While I share alot of his beliefs I myself find alot of room to criticize his methods and ideas.

Just ask if there`s anything in particular you`re interested in bouncing off me.

I don't think Dawkins gives religions--the Abrahamic ones in particular--enough credit for all the good they do in the world.

How much credit do you think he should give them, and for what?

A lot of credit, for all the peace and aid organizations they sponsor, all the hospitals and schools they build, all the volunteer work they do for communities in need, and for the hope and meaning they give to many individuals' lives.

That's a fair point, Bangbang. However, if Dawkin's is going to blame "religion" for the wars, prejudices, and violence instigated by people in their name, he should give "religion" credit for the charities and hospitals and schools instigated by people in their name, too. That's all I'm saying.
