I don't know. Euclid is an avenue that can lead to many destinations.

I didn't know anything about this until seeing your post, but certainly it offers the chance to accumulate more evidence.

Definitely, an avenue worth exploring.

We have a Euclid Avenue in my city, but believe me, I've explored it, and it's not worth it. It's pretty seedy.

But as for this Euclid space telescope, it sounds like it would definitely be worthwhile. Anything that can increase our knowledge of the universe is a good thing, in my opinion.

We have one too. That is probably why I was so quick to make the association.

I agree. I don't know what it will find, but finding anything that extends our knowledge of the universe is a good thing in my opinion as well.

Euclid Ave. is a couple blocks down from me.

I think it's funny. The scientists are positive there must be dark matter and dark energy, because they've deduced that the galaxies couldn't possibly exist unless these unseen forces exist. Ha Ha Don't tell'em!

I'm not sure where you are going with that, but it is my understanding that dark matter and dark energy are sort of like placeholders giving name to something expected based on the data, but not demonstrated yet by evidence.

No idea what you mean but there is good evidence that dark matter is matter consisting of unknown particles. We can map it to a certain extent already due to gravitational lensing and so on.

We should get much more detail from Euclid. Dark energy* is more mysterious and is basically a name we've given to something that's as yet unexplained.

* Also something of a misnomer as it isn't really energy.
