Even companies support Ukraine :)

Normally one would think that companies would let politicians handle stuff like this. But just some of the stories I have read.

I know that a lot of the biggest Supermarkets in Denmark and other parts of Europe are removing Russian products from their shops. (Not that its that many, but its still sends a message)

I don't think Russia expected that much backlash.

Elon musk is providing internet to them through Starlink.

, while you try to colonize Mars — Russia try to occupy Ukraine! While your rockets successfully land from space — Russian rockets attack Ukrainian civil people! We ask you to provide Ukraine with Starlink stations and to address sane Russians to stand.

Google Maps has blocked two features in Ukraine that provide information to users in real time, the company confirmed to CNN on Sunday.

The disabled features include Google Maps' live traffic overlay — a feature some researchers have used to monitor the conflict from afar — as well as Live Busyness, a feature that displays how popular a location may be at a given time.

Google made the change in an effort to help keep Ukrainians safe and after consultations with local officials, the company said.

Traffic updates are still available in Ukraine while using Google Maps' navigation mode, Google said.

----- (Obviously Norway is a country) :)

OSLO, Feb 27 (Reuters) - Norway's $1.3 trillion sovereign wealth fund, the world's largest, will divest its Russian assets following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the Norwegian prime minister said on Sunday.

The fund's Russian assets, consisting of shares in some 47 companies as well as government bonds, were worth 25 billion Norwegian crowns ($2.83 billion) at the end of 2021, down from 30 billion crowns a year earlier, the government said.

"We have decided to freeze the fund's investments and have begun a process of selling out (of Russia)," Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere told a news conference.

BP is to offload its 19.75% stake in Russian state-owned oil firm Rosneft after Russia's "act of aggression in Ukraine".

The oil giant had come under pressure from the UK government to make the move since Thursday's invasion.

It has held the shareholding in the Russian company since 2013.

Meanwhile, Norwegian energy giant Equinor says it will start the process of divesting from its joint ventures in Russia.

My best friend is from a former Soviet satellite state that neighbors Russia. She wants to visit me in the next several months, and all of this has made both of us question whether that will be possible. I'm glad to see steps taken to exert strong pressure on Russia to stop the war without starting a World War 3 for the sake of everyone involved, especially the civilians bearing the brunt of the military aggression.

It has been quite a stressful period for her (and me, as I'm worried for her). I really hope she and others over there stay safe from this egomaniac and I can see her again soon.

It obviously depends on where you live as many countries refuse Russians entry.

But also I wish they would be better at telling the Russian people that this is not aimed at them, at least that is not the impression I get when I speak with people. Its not like there are hate campaigns against them or anything, we know they are being fed misinformation. There is apparently only one independent news channel left still operating in Russia.

So I can fully understand why it must be extremely stressful for the Russians.

Oh, she's not Russian; just from a neighboring country that Putin would probably have ambitions to annex. But I can see your point. Many Russians disapprove of their dictatorial government's actions, and nobody should lump them in with the Putin apologists and supporters.
