Even if you are 'with God' can you make a wrong?

Stated by Pat Robertson (AP/Fox News, January 2, 2004)

"I think George Bush is going to win in a walk. I really believe I'm hearing form the Lord it's going to be like a blowout election in 2004. The Lord has just blessed him....It doesn't make any difference what he does, good or bad."

The bolded part is something that I wanted to discuss with the members. Can a person who has been blessed by God do bad? What are you thoughts on the quote?

Jacob "did a bad thing" by stealing Esau's birthright. Yet God not only blessed him, but established a covenant with him. But, just for the record, I disagree violently with Pat's take on it.

I would say, of course they can do bad! To say otherwise is almost to imply that said human is perfect and infallible, which according to Christian teachings is dead wrong.

Who's to say God blessed President Bush? I don't consider what he's done anything close to a blessing. It does matter what he does good or bad, he represents the most powerful industrial nation, the fact that he's in a "secret skull and bones" group, tingles me. Eseentially almost all presidential candidates are in some kind of "occultic group." I myself am slow to say God has blessed anybody to the point where what they do right or wrong doesn't matter. Our actions speak louder than words...

Once God blessed someone, Does this mean it is an eternal blessing??! As you give, you will take; based on our faith and good deeds, God's blessing will be bestowed.

What are these occult groups he and other presidential candidates belong to.

and David, Jonah, Solomon,...even Jesus had his moment in the garden.

Basically, I think we're all blessed and we all do wrong.

As far as Pat Robertson goes though; I think the only thing he's been blessed with is a talent for manipulating gullible people.

What does it mean to be blessed by God?
Do not expect manna from the sky or to win the lottery. In fact, MY way of blessing is quite impersonal. MY blessings apply to humankind as a whole.
I bless merely by smiling.
