Everybody needs faith in something, right?

Unfortunately, humans like to see themselves in heirarchy. Its a power thing. A parent doesnt make themselves a parent. They are one autoatically once they have children
.

I believe in hierarchy and prefer as much to the pending chaos we face if there is no One in charge.

there are 7billion living at the moment.
if the scheme of things goes on as is until I die....I might live to see 12billion on this planet.

simultaneously, 6billion will die.

I would then be standing up into chaos if there is no One in charge.
and with that much life to deal with.....
a swift and potent judgement call is anticipated.

If people were comfortable with life and death, take responsibility for their actions, learn to work together, and encourage each other to find our purposes in This life, we do not need a One. We dont need to hope someone shaped the planet when life is what we experience right now at this moment. Soilders, EMS, etc see death all the time so being comfortable isnt an overnight thing.

I understand people want heirarchy, but chaos wont happen if we learn have to work together to find our purposes, origin, and future. Live this life to be comfortable that we dont live forever.

I dont see how we need any One for this. Sounds like a need for a parent. Denial or grief it could be, I dont know.

If it helps and not harm others, thats fine. Since there is a heirachy and people are serious about what their One things, danger happens not because of the human who thinks for himself--at least he can access his morals and actions...but commiting actions in name of another, that bothers me.

for the first time I find myself using that catch phrase.....wishful thinking....

this life is chaotic with so many in charge.....and so many more just nodding their heads to authority.
but take away the authority and this life would degrade to even greater chaos on earth.

the next life, I believe , opens the mind and heart and all that we are comes forth.
we become what we really are.
as coarse as this life might be.....the next could tear your soul

and so....

I believe the next life is filled with peace.....but only because....
judgement prevents all else from continuance.

if we stand among the angelic.....it's because we belong there

Eh. I choose to see life differently. Id go crazy hoping for a paradise. The purppse of life is the here and now. Who you were shapes who you are now. The future does not exist as we all keep moving forward into it. Its imaginary.

My purpose is to find solace from who I am by my past. What makes me, me is whomever is related to me. The things I know for a fact because I am a "product" of that fact.

That keeps me going.

Life is horrible, yes. Life is Also wonderful. In my opinion, truth is not what you hope for as that is unstable. Truth is what shape you now and how do we know? By our past.

Heaven is wishful thinking, in my opinion. My ancestors are not. The first is based on hope the other fact. Not because its a belief but because of your past that is why you exist today.

I try to help people as much I can. See the good sides. Be comfortable with what I cannot control.

Christianity is very depressing. The way god is pertrayed is even more so.

I believe the body is a means to lean this reality in all that we can.....
the body cannot do much else.
and so we are here to learn all that we can before we die.

what we learn....we become.

so many are here with us now, but I suspect death is final for most.
without intent and determination toward the next life....most fail to stand from the dust

even so....I also believe the angelic will be standing alongside... as we stand...

the peace of heaven is guarded.
angels have be displayed with sword in hand for centuries.

I cannot take that away

Let me ask. You can bypass it if you like.

What would you do today and your beliefs be if you had no future and death is it?

Are you asking me, @paarsurrey ?
People learn from many other people beyond one's parents and family. Nor is what one learns from family always better than what one learns elsewhere, far from it.
Doubting and learning reasons to trust despite doubt is a good thing in science, which is built upon that strategy. And it may be even better in everyday living and creating values.
I think that the point mentioned in post #35 and in post #49 has yet to be answered appropriately.

no afterlife is a failed chemistry experiment.

It doesnt have to be that way. Reaching for the afterlife to me seems like runing away from the present life. Hopes as a pin cushion for happiness.

I mean, Im not philosophizing. I have had medical experiences that put me in life and death situations. It makes me more appreciative of this life so when I get to the point of death, Id be in the state of mind that I will be as if I were not born.

Id live in spirit through my family and where I lived...but hoping for a next life? That sounds like a psychological comfort to be comfortable with just not existing anymore. And why say its a failed experiment. We do exist in the hearts of others and the land.

That and I have no clue what yall be doing in heaven. Dancing? Id stay here with family. I know what its like to loose a loved one. Not about me.

oh, I'm not in a hurry that's for sure....

and I've been blind seven days....
and I know what it's like to have my limbs cold and unresponsive.....

and I know that level of pain where the pain stopped....for an hour....

and death will catch up to me .....I see Him in my dreams....
and all of that blinding numbness will return.

I have hope beyond that last breath.

and if I spend one year of time with each one that survives the last breath....
I shall be busy.....and not alone.....for millions of years
maybe even billions of years

Where exactly and on what basis? Please

"We do exist in the hearts of others and the land."

Where? In the hearts of others-for example my family. If I were to pass before my loved ones, Id live in them not in heaven. What basis? (For what purpose?) Its something I cant change. Instinctual connetion with family members that create that spiritual (emotional and physiological based on upbringing, social intereaction, and perception of reality) connection even if far away.

What is the goal of the question?
