Everybody needs faith in something, right?

I can't say that we necessarily need it, but I'm quite certain that everyone (or at least most people) have some kind of faith, trust, or belief of some kind.

I have faith in unimportant things, like..
  • My football team will win this weekend.
  • My favourite band will excel itself with its next album

... but I rely on evidence for important things such as my family's health and education.

I have faith (based upon observation, ie, inductive reasoning) that there
will be much argument because "faith" has more than one definition.

Everyone needs faith? That seems to imply all instances of having faith are equally warranted. But the fact that one has faith one's car will run long enough to get to the office does not mean one's faith in deity is just as warranted as one's faith in one's car.

The problems I've had with my car this winter, I think I would have to agree!

Right?

Depends on what you mean.

I feel everyone has trust in something or someone to keep them going. Maybe themselves. Teddy bare. Family. Culture. Values. Practice. Religion. Whatever.

I mean, if I stocked everything on evidence then I have to chuck all my "assumptions" and interpretations that my mother loves me because there is no objective "evidence" she does... just how I interpret love itself compared to another feeling. All subjective.

Im sure all people trust in something to keep them motivated to live. It does Not need to be religious in nature.

I believe that religious actions will eventually destroy mankind.
And that true atheistic thinking will be blamed for the distruction.

Oh wait.....who will be left to care ?

it has been a long standing prophecy that Man would meet in war over belief.

any one left standing won't have much to care about
