I'm excited. I know that I have no reason to be specifically, but I just signed up to be a warrior for the Band Heilung, during their upcoming North America tour! I hope I get selected, it would be a huge honor!!

After listening to that song, I'm ready to go on a hunt or a raid or whatever they were chanting. I hope the lead singer is taking care of his vocal chords. His style sounds rough on them.

Fun! I hope you get that job. That chanting voice in the video draws from Mongolian or Tuvan throat singing, specifically the Kargyraa style which is what he was singing. You can hear this great musical group, Huun Huur Tu perform it beautifully in their opening song.

I think I have three, or maybe four of them. I know someone who studied with them and is friends with them. I tried to learn that style of singing from him, but never really got it.

I think it is modeled after throat singing. There is another Pagan artist that uses it too.
