State the #1 sign in the last 5 years that has told you your worldview is on the right path.

Worldview - Wikipedia

My answer for me: I'm always trying to evolve with my ideas and sense of self, and along the way, I feel that I have shed some sloppy ideas which demonstrated a lack of value for other people in general, such as ideas that if a woman or another woman rejects a person in regards to dating, that it says something about her character - I now feel that in most cases, it doesn't. I've also worked at increasing my knowledge of science, although there are still a few subjects regarding it that can trip me up in debate if I'm not careful. Anyway, my one indication I might be on the right path, in these past 5 years, is that I feel I'm starting to achieve better happiness and peace in life, and in ways that exist within my own headspace, and yet don't involve things like walking on others to climb corporate ladders, telling people they're wrong in real life instead of ignoring them and going on my way, or basing my happiness on things like money, etc, which I feel isn't a very "sure" thing to base your happiness on.

I'm increasingly noticing that everyone who agrees with me is cool, attractive and very intelligent; whilst everyone who doesn't agree with me are lame, ugly, dumb and smell bad.

This is how I determine that I am correct.

Which one is the "right" path?

From where I'm sitting, there are multitude of paths. Whether one takes the express lanes or a scenic route, all lead to the same destination.

What is religion, if nothing more than a system of attitudes, beliefs, and practices constructed by those who agree upon a particular worldview?

But with no personal indications you are on the right path, does that mean you kind of just pick your beliefs out of favoritism (or some random element)?

Make it 14 years and i can say the major sign was a photograph of a village square.
We holidayed in a small village in rural france and fell in love with the tranquility, the countryside, even the golden stone that the houses were made of.
I took a photo of the village square that became the desktop on my computer at home, just to remind me of our vacation.
We were at the time looking for somewhere to move to in either italy or france.
So i started my computer, trawled through my bookmarks of estate agents and spotted what appeared to be exactly the same picture.
Minimize to check, maximise, yes, only difference, there was blue sky on our pic, a few scattered clouds on the estate agents pic.
We had taken our pic from outside a village house. The estate agent had taken one of her pics from exactly the same spot outside this house.
It was for sale.
We booked the next available flight, viewed the property and bought it and moved in 6 years later
My worldview has changed slightly since first taking that pic. Only to include the pleasure that living in the french countryside brings.

That is a great indicator that you’re on the right path. Watching for progress in peace of mind and happiness.

My best evidence for my worldview is that I am proud of who I am and where I’ve gotten so far.

For my agnosticism - to paraphrase @John53 —. The continuing fact that no proof of (or disproof of) the existence of God has come to light.

For my political ideology — The continuing and needless, cruelty, unfairness, sickness, warfare, instability, and shortsightedness of those areas in our country and across the planet whose political ideologies varies from my own, in direct proportion with their level of suffering.
While those areas and nations who hold closer to my own political ideologies are safer, healthier, more just, happier, and more economically stable.:)

God appeared to me in a vision and told me that atheism was the right path for me.

Purely out of curiosity by what % has the property appreciated in price over the last 6 years?

Well... yeah.

See - The wrong religion

And just inverse these for indications you're practicing the right religion (worldview, life path, whatever you want to call it).

Since I've been on RF for about five years, perhaps the main thing that has tended to support the views I have is the number of people on here who seem to provide much of the evidence for these. With either so many being willfully ignorant of scientific evidence, or perhaps just not willing to delve into such, or simply being biased because of their religious belief. And the same tends to happen with regards political perspectives, especially when religious beliefs seem to be used to support such.

So thanks to all of these people - I'm sure you know who you are. :D

And thanks to all those who supply the more reasonable comments and answers - I'm sure you know who you are too. :trophy:

I use life and reality as my template now. I listen to nature rather than people for the straight skinny.
