Facing blackouts and Iranian-made drones, Ukrainian Jews urge Israel to help

So Israel helps Iran's ally Russia for purely political reasons in effect throwing Ukrainian Jews under the bus. Israel therefore practices tactical realpolitik which goes against its strategic interest in countering Iran. I'm sure Israel will bleat piteously when Iran's friend Russia has helped them to get the bomb.

Israel’s position is ever more painful for some Ukrainian Jews as they prepare to celebrate Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights, in intermittent darkness due to the blackouts brought on by Russia’s recurring airstrikes, which have knocked out the heat in the main sanctuary of the synagogue David attends in Kyiv.

Israeli leaders have declined to provide weapons or defense systems to Ukraine and refused to join Western economic sanctions for fear of jeopardizing its security relationship with Russia.

And you "bleat piteously" and contemptuously as some comfortable Californian with precious little understanding or stake in properly managing the existential threat to Israel posed by Iran.

Managing by placating a country that is making that threat worse?

Are you suggesting Israel is a pacifist country?

How did you get that from an OP implying Israel is acting to its long term detriment by choosing to placate a country helping Iran's military rather than helping Ukrainian Jews.

I didn't.
It was from your second post, suggesting that Israel is pursuing a policy of placation towards Iran.

You misread it - Israel is placating Russia by refusing to help Ukraine (and Ukraine's Jews) by not responding to Ukrainian Jews request for help.

Okay.
So...to reset my comment here a little.

My point being, Israel has consistently acted in a manner which aligns with her military strategy, and with clear recognition of the existential threat to her statehood that is constantly at play. More than once this has driven pre-emptive military action, cross-border raids, a stringent missile defence, forward bases on disputed territories, and more.

The one thing I don't think Israel could be fairly accused of is sitting on her hands, being too passive, and allowing her neighbours to better position themselves to threaten her.

Long story short, I'm sure they have their (strategic) reasons.

In my OP, I did not dispute Israel's tactical actions but by placating Russia which is working with Iran it's making a strategic mistake because Russia is strengthening Iran's regime. Of course, time will tell.
