Fairly Unusual Things About You

Just please, leave them some tooth! Unlike how they used to be prepared when I was young (well, that's pre-history now, I suppose).
Oh, no, I barely cook them. Just warm the little buggers for a wee bit. Over-cooked, like so many vegetables, they are horrid.

I've never owned a car or had an automobile license, but I once figured out that if you took all the miles I'd ever hitchhiked or rode freight trains and put them in a straight line you could go around the world 3 times.

  • I do not play video games and actually despise them to some extent.
  • I have such severe depression I cannot talk to people for months on end and isolate myself for a few months. Oddly enough I am often forgiven for my rudeness and get hugs for being so damaged since people know I enjoy hugs.
  • I have such strict principles I do not party or associate with people in an environment with liquor.
  • I do not own a TV nor do watch television.
  • I have an odd obedience and loyalty to my fiance that out of respect I address her by her last name :D.

Unusual things about me:

Like the OP, I don't gain or lose much weight regardless of what I eat, whether it's something healthy or some junk food.

I'm an introvert compared to the people around me.

I'm also tired most of the time for some reason.

Like so many in this thread, I don't own a TV and don't want to own one.

Maybe the most unusual thing about me is that I've taken multiple university courses in logic, critical reasoning, and related topics -- relatively few people have any formal training in those subjects, so far as I know.

Maybe the most usual -- not unusual, but usual -- thing about me is that I still manage to screw up all the time when attempting to reason, despite my training.

Perhaps another unusual thing about me is that I am voluntarily celibate. As I understand it, most people who are celibate are not voluntarily celibate, but I have found celibacy to be the happiest situation for me.

Last, I am also a (very) amateur portrait artist. I'm anything but prolific, and have done only a few canvases (less than 40) in my life. These are all people I know:

Among my friends, I have been called an encyclopedia of useless information. Unfortunately, I cant disagree.

Thanks! I'll now add to my own repertoire of useless information the fact that I know someone who is an encyclopedia of useless information! :D

- Sometimes people get annoyed at me because I don't react to things the way they expected. I don't do emotional displays and I'm very private about my life. People misunderstand that with being cold, which I don't believe I am.

I have friends who are quite private persons and suffer from the same misunderstandings as you. People think they're cold. In the case of my friends, some of them are among the most passionate people I know. Just very private.

1. I like mathematics. That tends to put me in the minority in any circle not dedicated to math.

I like math too, but tragically have very little knowledge of it. My first grade teacher was a genuine sadist who turned me off to the subject via the punishments she gave out for mistakes. I didn't realize how much I loved math until fairly late in life.

Good lord, Paul! You too?

Sometimes it's hell to get a good haircut, isn't it?
Strangely, mine is very well behaved and I always have a nice haircut. I prefer it quite short (1/2 ")

Edit: @Sunstone

The sweet thang that cuts my hair now is an amazing and beautiful young lady. She is also remarkable due to the fact that she had a severe stroke when she was 21. It took her about a year to relearn how to speak. She is now 24 and it have been tremendous seeing her slowly regain her abilities. Her speech and confidence is improved every time I see her. Some guy is a very lucky guy to have her as his girlfriend. On my last visit we talked about Intersectionality and Gender Studies. :) (She still takes awhile to cut hair but she is getting better all the time.)

I haven't been to a hairdresser since I was 16 as I started receding when I was at high school and have shaved my head ever since.

Must have saved a fortune in 20+ years of no hairdressers or haircare products :moneybag::moneybag::moneybag:

Thank you so much for sharing her wonderful story, Paul. You just made my day!

My left pinky has a condition called Dupuytren's contracture.
Tissue under the skin tightens, curling it up into a hook.
There are cures, but they're not worth the cost, pain &
inconvenience. I just need to be careful not to grab
anything with it....there's no letting go without the tearing,
& the hurting & the screaming & the hoyven glayven!

There's kinds?
Yup, There's those that use Hexes & Curses, usually Chaos Magick.
Those that use Black Magic though some say its just another way of saying Chaos Magick, even though Chaos itself is not evil or good, but nether & both at the same time. Basically, its not 100% evil.

You can also be called a warlock if you twist other practices or arts to do something else, like Divination, instead of giving life, you take it. Shamanism, instead of opening others to communicate with whatever, you can deafen them to it. Basically reverse the effects, flip the positive to negative.

Others who are into Necromancy have called themselves warlocks, but they mostly use the negative side of Necromancy. Honestly, you could call yourself a Warlock if you use the negative side to any practice.
In my experience, there's no such thing as a purely good or purely evil practice, it all depends on how it is used and the intentions involved.

You asked.
