There are some who reject all gods due to a lack of evidence of gods (or even any coherent, usable definition of the concept). Most believers seem to pick and choose, where they believe in one god or some gods, while rejecting others. Is the process of picking and choosing just a feeling that people have, or is it simply a matter of upbringing?

Everybody wants to rule the world. People see what they want to see. Since we are all Spiritual beings in our true natures, there is sense beyond the physical. Keeping all this in mind and look around you at this world. knowledge is not just given. Wisdom is acquired along the journey to Discover knowledge.

Knowledge discovered from our ancestors is passed down. When there is a gap in knowledge, one generates Beliefs. Without Beliefs we would lock up just like my old computer when all the facts are not known.

How much has really been Discovered about God? Since Discovery takes so much work, it's so much easier to accept and believe. What we are taught in our youth stays with one. On the other hand, people shape their beliefs about God what they want to be true rather than seeking out the real truth for themselves.

Discovery takes works. It's so much easier painting one's own picture. The diversity of beliefs not just about God but about everything is almost limitless. How many hang onto beliefs without even trying to Discover the truth? Perhaps a question one should ask oneself. What is it about your beliefs that you like so well that you hang onto them so tightly?

I guess it really comes down to what one really seeks and what one is willing to do to Discover fact from fiction. Where would the world be today without those willing to venture into undiscovered country to find out what actually is. Perhaps as mankind grows, the number of these people will increase. After all, the more one Discovers; the rate of Discovery increases. Look how far mankind has grown in the last 100 years compared to all the time before that.

In time, science will Discover God. They are walking straight toward God. I would never count on Beliefs. So many of them simply do not add up. Perhaps beliefs point a direction one might search for the truth. It is a beginning not an end. On the other hand, all our choices regardless of what they are lead to learning and moving forward. One will , in time, Discover what the best choices really are.

That's what I see. It's very clear!!

The only deities I can see being fake are ones made up in contemporary works of fiction, like Zuul from Ghostbusters for example. (I'm pretty sure Ziggy Stardust groupies didn't exist that far back.) Every deity from mythology and history is very real.

As someone who has had many religious experiences, I am certainly not mocking them or saying they are crazy. But I think it is also important to concede honestly that the human mind can trick us. We have intuitions that turn out to be false. We experience optical illusions and hallucinations. We see what we expect to see. Our memories are not reliable. Our preconceived notions distort what we experience. Thus, while it is normal to give credence to our experiences, we should also have the humility to accept that they are not true evidence.

When it comes out of the wash it seems we are all atheist to some extent,
One either doesn't believe gods exist at all
Or
One doesn't believe any other god exist but the one(s) they believe in.
