Fascism - Why...

I have. Several times. It's probably best if you just read it yourself, given that most or all of your questions are answered within it.
I'm having a conversation with YOU not some book. I can't have a 2 way conversation with a book, but I can have one with you.
You don't see how installing fake electors (who will vote for you instead of the democratically elected guy), in place of the real ones is a subversion of democracy and an attempt to keep oneself in power? Really?
The claim is that he wanted to get rid of democracy and install himself as dictator. Now why would a dictator be concerned with votes?
You said "they were basically unarmed."
You were wrong.
Of the thousands of people there, what percentage of them had guns with them? And how do those guns compare to the guns used by the US Military? No my friend; they were basically unarmed.

No, because all you are doing is playing games. It's obvious what in general was happening on January 6th and why, and for one to ignore what the likely consequences would be is nonsensical.
What is obvious is that there was no attempt to take over the country, get rid of the other 2 branches of Government, and install Trump as dictator! That much is obvious.

We're not talking about "some book." We're talking about the indictments against Trump.
How do you expect to know what you're talking about if you haven't even glanced at them?
I've answered all of your questions, as noted in my last post. You don't seem to take in the answers.

Fake votes in his favour? Gee, I don't know.

Read the articles. Good grief. Do you always make a habit of drawing conclusions without knowing any of the details?
They were not "basically unarmed." That's flat out wrong.

Flat out wrong? So answer my question; of the thousands of people involved, how many of them had actual guns on them?

I just received Heather Cox Richardson's new book in the mail, it's called Democracy Awakening: Notes of the State of America.

If you don't know her, I highly recommend her substack, Letters from an American.

I've been following her for quite a while now and she does not disappoint.

Anyway - this excerpt from the foreword is perfect for this thread:

This crisis in American democracy crept up on many of us. For generations of Americans, grainy news footage from World War II showing row upon row of Nazi soldiers goose-stepping in military parades tricked us into thinking that the Adolf Hitlers of the world arrive at the head of giant armies. So long as we didn't see tanks in our streets, we imagined that democracy was secure. But in fact, Hitler's rise to absolute power began with his consolidation of political influence to win 36.8 of percent of the vote in 1932, which he parlayed into a deal to become German chancellor. The absolute dictatorship came afterward.
Democracies die more often through the ballot box than at gunpoint.

... do so many Americans desperately want it?

("inspired" by the thread regarding Trump at the next election)
Fascism: " a political system headed by a dictator in which the government controls business and labor and opposition is not permitted."

Few know anything about trump. He knows how to say what they want to hear and few comprehend how corrupt He actually is.

Plus, as we've repeatedly seen, some put party loyalty over the country and even basic morality.

That's not even Logic 101, so it seems that you are totally unable to connect some basic dots.
When people have legitimate points to make, they make the point instead of playing games like connect the dots.

How many times do we have to go through this before you're able to take in the information??

If your desire is to keep your head in the sand, then have at it, I guess. I've provided you with the information you've requested at least twice now. The mob was armed in a variety of ways, including stun guns, pepper spray, baseball bats, flagpoles (that they used to club people), zip ties, bear spray, hockey sticks, knives, stolen police shields, a fire extinguisher; they erected a gallows; many were seen earlier in the day and the day before roaming the streets with guns; somebody planted pipe bombs at the DNC and RNC headquarters,

The FBI found a pickup truck full of bombs and guns near the Capitol.
Lonnie Kaufman had multiple loaded weapons including a shot gun, a hand gun and a rifle with hundreds of rounds of ammunition, a crossbow, a machete, a stun gun and 11 Molotov cocktails stashed in his vehicle near the Capitol. He pleaded guilty.
Guy Reffitt has been charged with bringing a handgun onto Capitol grounds. He has been found guilty.
Christopher Michael Alberts brought his handgun onto Capitol grounds and has been charged with ten felony counts and is now serving seven years in prison.

I could go on and on and on ....

Have you not seen any footage of that day or read a single news story about it??

You seem to have a habit of answering every question except for the one question I asked. Again I asked; of the thousands of people who raided the Capital that day, how many of them had guns on them? You responded with zip ties, bear spray, hockey sticks, fire extinguishers, pretty much everything except guns. Then you mention guns on capital grounds, guns in some truck near the capital, guns everywhere except for in the hands of the people who raided the capital that day. Is it fair to say none that you know of?

Keep going on and on until you finally answer the question

From my previous post:

The FBI found a pickup truck full of bombs and guns near the Capitol.
Lonnie Kaufman had multiple loaded weapons including a shot gun, a hand gun and a rifle with hundreds of rounds of ammunition, a crossbow, a machete, a stun gun and 11 Molotov cocktails stashed in his vehicle near the Capitol. He pleaded guilty.

Then I provided a link with more examples.

So, the answer is "many." Many people brought guns as well as a ton of other weapons onto Capitol grounds on January 6th. Many others had caches of weapons nearby in their vehicles. I don't know why you think that guns are the only weapon that actually count when people were beaten and attacked with makeshift weapons and actual weapons but I think that's rather silly given the number of people that were injured and/or killed on that day.

Gee, I wonder why those dudes had weapons caches nearby in their cars? Golly gee who knows!
