Pretty straight up question, what is your favorite animal (Only 1)? :)

For me wolves take the spot.

I love owls. There is a barred owl that lives in the woods on my property. I hear it often, calling to others deeper in the forest.

(that is not "my owl" but another barred owl)

...you need something between you and a snow leopard :hearteyecat:

"The snow leopard’s powerful build allows it to scale great steep slopes with ease. Its hind legs give the snow leopard the ability to leap six times the length of its body. A long tail provides balance and agility and also wraps around the resting snow leopard as protection from the cold.

For millennia, this magnificent cat was the king of the mountains. The mountains were rich with their prey such as blue sheep, Argali wild sheep, ibex, marmots, pikas and hares. Snow leopards are found in 12 countries—including China, Bhutan, Nepal, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Russia, and Mongolia—but their population is dropping."

The only downside to this particular cat is that apparently its diet can include my second favourite animal, the red panda.

Tricky. think I'd probably go for the dragonfly:

A beautiful and ephemeral creature I associate with summer, by the water.

Tardigrades, also known colloquially as "Water bears" or "Moss Piglets". They can survive complete lack of water for 10 or more years using a sugar compound called trehalose to "prop up" their innards. When water returns, the trehalose dissolves, and the tardigrades go on about their business.

Neat. There are fossils of dragonflies that are over 300 million years old. Back then they had 30 inch wing spans
You mean during the Carboniferous? Yes, there were a lot of huge insects at that time.

I have read that it is thought O2 levels in the atmosphere were considerably higher then, and this enabled the insect system of breathing via spiracles to support larger bodies that is possible today.
