Favourite Works of Art

Just wondering what people's favourite works of art are. (I leave the definition of "art" here up to you, so Tracey Emin's "Unmade Bed" and Duchamps "Fountain" do count.)

Van Gogh's Starry Night is one I like very much, especially after seeing Van Gogh in an episode of Doctor Who and realising that he shared the pain of depression. the intense use of colour therefore makes more sense.

Escher's Relativity is also something I liked too since I was a kid. it's just a mind boggling idea.

I'm also a big fan of Van Gogh. Starry Night being my favorite, but I also really enjoy this one:

Some of my favorites are Chinese landscape paintings. Especially ones of the beautiful Mt. Huang.

Great Wave Off Kaganawa by Hokusai is another favorite of mine, as well as the paintings of the Naruto whirlpools.

I think Escher is fantastic. being terrible at art I can't even imagine how someone goes about creating such amazing drawings

there not drawings but wood engravings. so he would have carved the image into a block of wood, put it in ink and then applied it to paper.

I just thought I'd blow your mind some more. :D

Another from Giger, one that overlaps into another one of my favorite pieces of art, the Alien movies.

I also really like Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, Dante's Divine Comedy, and Palahniuk's Invisible Monsters.

I love Escher! When I was about 11, one of my teachers had an Escher art book and I was totally fascinated with it. anyways, I have a lot of favorites but I'll just post a couple for now.
