FBI Investigates Major Crime

Generally, the FBI would never concern itself with a
stolen diary....something personal, not valuable, &
not crossing state lines. And then there's the grand
jury....I've never heard of such an insignificant crime
requiring one.

fair enough. I’m not familiar with American law enforcement (beyond Hollywood movies anyway :D ).

Still can't figure it out eh?

What I've figured out....
You & other lefties would never approve of the FBI
& the grand jury system being applied to minor
crimes....except when they go after the evil right.
So yeah....you've not figured it out....at all......despite it being explained to you.

Okay then.

So what? There have been no announcements of finding the diary. Presumably they would trumpet if they had. Since they haven’t, what was the point? This only serves to make the once vaunted FBI look like bungling incompetents.

Since the author of the OP is unable to grasp it, let's try again.

This isn't just a case of some random diary being stolen. This involves the diary of the daughter of one of the major parties' Presidential candidate being stolen and the contents of that diary being posted online just prior to the Presidential election. That obviously (at least to some of us) brings up a whole host of possibilities that go far beyond mere petty theft of a woman's book.

Was it an attempt to influence the election? That needs to be investigated, and by someone other than the local police.

If it was an attempt to influence the election, who did it? Since it would have clearly been an attempt to help Trump win, and given that we already know the Russians worked to help Trump in the 2016 election, they would be an obvious suspect.

And that leads to a much bigger possibility....should this be a counter-intelligence operation?

Given the specific circumstances here, at the very least those need to be investigated, and the FBI is the appropriate agency to do so.

Actually this story is about the FBI efforts to find the diary. Why they are doing so is separate. It seems the FBI can’t find it.

Always the gentlemen in any discussion.

O'Keefe says after coming into possession of the diary
(without printing any of it), they turned it over to law
enforcement. Does anyone claim having it?
I've found nothing reliable so far.

A missing daughter's diary....this ranks right up
there with the Rosenberg spy case & the Robert
Hanssen double agent case. Let's hope that the
grand jury can prosecute the offender(s) before
national security is utterly destroyed.

Rumor has it that several FBI agents were bitten by a small dog.
Well, the guy did say his dog doesn't bite.

National security is at stake.
What if the diary divulges a secret crush?

This orginazation seems to have become more political.
Calling parents "terrorist", and the above action.
In my opinion it is lucky for the country that Garland did not become a Supreme Court judge.
