Seems that David Muir has some crow to eat after "fact-checking" Trump about his statment on crime, saying" President Trump, as you know the FBI says overalll violent crime is actually coming down in this country". However the FBI released data saying that instead of a 2.1% decrease in violent crimes in 2022 it was actually a 4.5% increase.

Violent crime dropped by more than 15% in the United States during the first three months of 2024, according to statistics released Monday by the FBI.

The new numbers show violent crime from January to March dropped 15.2% compared to the same period in 2023, while murders fell 26.4% and reported rapes decreased by 25.7%. Aggravated assaults decreased during that period when compared to last year by 12.5%, according to the data, while robberies fell 17.8%.

The numbers released Monday were gathered from 13,719 of the just over 19,000 law enforcement agencies from across the country, according to the bureau...

Well, that does account for the attempt to claim that the FBI was trying to hide something by "quietly" doing the update, even though they don't usually announce their figures with an oompah band playing in the background. It was a typical piece of shoddy reporting, since it was all about blaming Democrats for the crimes that do happen. One thing in their favor was that they didn't say anything about immigrants being perpetrators of crimes. Something else that Democrats and the FBI must be trying to hide from the public. :rolleyes:

Trump has been right on most things most of the time and people like you and me already know it.

The left just likes to cover up things and fudge figures all the time, which is why I hardly respond to it when they say it's fact when in reality it's not.

Excellent research like usual.

I don't know, Fox has been doing an exceptionally good job lately.

It's like a person who's been caught in the past and for the future they are a lot more careful and more responsible. I'd say they learned from their errors of their way then regressed.

I think you misinterpreted the likes. It wasn't because they thought him serious. Everyone knows anotherneil's political beliefs. They simply agreed with the comment that Fox News ought to be ignored. It is a notoriously bad source of information.

here is what the actual report says:

Violent crime decreased by 15.2 percent.
Murder decreased by 26.4 percent
Rape decreased by 25.7 percent

I personally don't believe what these alphabet soup federal agencies have to say as they engage in propaganda. I prefer to believe my own eyes and ears and I know that violent crime is becoming worse in my city because I always follow the news and pay attention to things. Areas that weren't so bad are becoming very dangerous, such as the campus and Short North area. There's definitely been a huge spike in shootings.
