Which camp are you in, the God-fearing or the God-trusting?

It seems to me that they are mutually exclusive, in that if you trust someone then you have nothing to fear from them.

Trust. I trust God enough to know that if I do what he says, I'll be blessed, and that if I don't, I won't.

Neither. I go for more of an "understand God" approach. I don't fear because I have no reason to, but I don't trust it, because God is way too unpredictable.

Faith is neither Truth or trust.

The only way to trust someone is to truthfully get to K(NOW) them.
I see what you mean, but surely, having Faith in someone (such as God) means having a conviction that God is trustworthy (among all the other qualities we believe him to have) ?;)

Both here. I fear God beacuse God is the all-powerful Creator and Ruler of the Universe. I trust God because of His manifestation as Jesus Christ. Faith compells me to do both because I can't prove that God exists. I can't know God like I know other people, because I can't see God. It is a relationship completely grounded in faith.

By faith, I trust that God will do what He promised in Jesus Christ. This faith is compells me to trust God, and because of who God is, I fear God.

The only thing that you can obtain with faith is the hope that GOD is trustworthy which to me, still seems insufficient.

GOD is a BEing that operates on Truth, not faith. In order to accept a REALationship like this you have to be prepared to reciprocate this Truth. A real relationship is not encouraged by fear but love. If fear is a factor in any relationship, you may have to reevaluate that relationship.

You cannot see the people on religious forums yet you have developed many friends and trustworthy relationships. You will not have the same relationship with GOD as you have with other humans but your methods of approach and procedures of engaging a connection should practically remain the same.

Ah, there is where we part company; faith, to me is just that - tghe dictionary defines faith as 1 a : allegiance to duty or a person : LOYALTY b (1) : fidelity to one's promises (2) : sincerity of intentions, complete tru(I have chosen the definitions I thought would best explain the point I am trying o make).

To me, the faith of which you talk (your words)
the hope that GOD is trustworthy which to me, still seems insufficient
I would say is a problem for you; not for me; to me faith is "Knowing that God is fully and totally trustworthy". I think what you talk about - you used the word yourself, is hope not Faith. You have a hope that God will come up trumps, I have a total conviction that he will.

Ther lies our difference.;)

I think part of the problem is the King James version of the Bible. It uses the word "fear" in a way that we do not usually use it today. In the sense of the KJV, "fear" means "to stand in awe". If you stand in awe of God you are "fearing God in the sense the translators meant.

As to "fear" awe" and "trust". My faith directs me:
"Beware not to deal unjustly with any one that appealeth to you, and entereth beneath your shadow. Walk ye in the fear of God, and be ye of them that lead a godly life. Rest not on your power, your armies, and treasures. Put your whole trust and confidence in God, Who hath created you, and seek ye His help in all your affairs. Succor cometh from Him alone. He succoreth whom He will with the hosts of the heavens and of the earth."
(Baha'u'llah, Gleanings from the Writings of Baha'u'llah, p. 251)
