Females & military drafts

NewChapter

It has to first be asked if there is a need for a draft or other mandatory conscription. Assuming the country is America, where there is a large enough population to keep a volunteer-military filled, then no one should have to register for a draft or conscription. But if we are looking at a smaller country where the population isn't going to adequately fill a volunteer-military, then everyone who is able-bodied and of sound-mind should be trained regardless of sex.

(Continuing) I noticed your signature statement...Does Jesus seem like light to you? :)

This is John 1:7-9:

John 1:7-9
English Standard Version (ESV)
(7)He came as a witness, to bear witness about the light, that all might believe through him. (8)He was not the light, but came to bear witness about the light. (9)The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.

Are you honestly comparing our military now to what is was 40 to 50 years ago? Plus, there is a world of difference between defending your own borders and invading into another's. Home field advantage ring a bell?

As for waging many wars, what do you want us to do? Get involved in every skirmish in the world until we are in wars on every continent? You worry about our strength as a military force and then want to stretch us thin around the world?

(Smile) not looking for an argument but we have always been the or a world superpower in 20th century and beyond and yet we lost in Vietnam and received a draw in Korea. Infact this article from RT.com says that Soviet involvement in Vietnam is the reason that the U.S. lost the war:

Russia isn't joking around in Syria, or Ukraine either. Russia and China are presently two countries at odds with America.
Ahem, if I may;

Russia is a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma...but the secret to this mystery is Russia's foreign interests. And know what's very much against Kremlin's interests? China. Know why? China needs resources. They're experiencing what Imperial Japan was in the 30s. Their growth has outstripped their posessions. Now, what is due north of China? Siberia. What's in Siberia? Diamond mines, oil fields, gas fields, coal, mineral riches thatRussia can't use because it would flood the market and make it worthless.

China and Russia are inherently opposed to each other. They have no common interest. Russia isn't selling an aircraft carrier to India because they want to make friends with China. Ukraine is, at best, a side-show to Russia's resurrection of the "Great Game" they played with the British Empire in Central Asia, specifically the region inhabited by Iran/Persia, Pakistan and the formerly-Russian 'stans.

Russia is a broken power, a dying behemoth that doesn't know the glory days have been over since the 80s. Actions in Ukraine, Syria and such are nothing but attempts to remain relevant in a global situation they can't properly exploit.

No, I saw it on the History Channel in a documentary about the end of the world.
...

The History Channel hasn't been about "history" for eons now. You lose, sir.

I think you guys are off, but here is a source from the internet about China's army (from: http://endtimesresearchministry.com/200-million-man-army :)

"While it is true China does in fact have an army that numbers 200,000,000 men we need to take a closer look at Revelation 16:12."
Try closer to 2 million. However, there is far more to war than the number of people you have fighting.

No.

No.

Would it be OK to ask why Jesus doesn't seem like light?
Or is that getting more personal than you care to get?

Not all about the numbers of course...that just somehow came up on the thread.

Peace & brotherly love,
Bro. Noah

Just because we've always been considered a superpower does not mean that the military of today is comparable to that of yesteryear. We have made many advancements. We are more capable now than we were then. It is not the same. Plus, as I said, we have oceans to our borders. Us going somewhere else is completely different than protecting our borders and upon our own land. Then it is others who need to cross miles of water to get to us.

He is part of/is a god that condones and supports wickedness. A god of anger, jealously, vengeance and genocide is not a god I consider good or fit and worthy of praise and worship.

I see...thank you Ma'am for writing with me.

Isn't wickedness a subjective term? The Bible says this:

"And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28, English Standard Version

You do realize the "History Channel" has long been everything but actual history right? The fact that they do bits of religious stories and act as if they are verified history should testify to that. Besides, I don't think you actually saw or heard that number upon the History Channel anyway unless it was in direct regards to this Armageddon stuff.

No I want to say that the U.S. "lapdanced" the evil !@#$%^& bin Laden to fight the Soviets instead of fighting the Soviets ourselves.
...

Are you just ignorant of the past 70 years? Both sides of that conflict are Gotterdammerung Capable. The war could never be confined to the conventional, because as soon as one side began to lose, or as soon as one seemed like it would be too tough to crack, nuclear hell-fire rains down on the other, prompting a response. This is ignoring states like France, who do not have a "retaliation"-policy. Their use of nuclear weapons? In the event of a war between the United States and Soviet Union, the Rhine would be saturation-nuked and the French would dare the Red Army to cross it. French nuclear policy amounts to "**** you, you're coming with us".

You don't have the faintest idea as to what you're proposing.

Sorry Mr. Nietzsche but I'm going to be putting you on ignore.

Best wishes at the site!
